If he gets the gig, can we start a countdown until Goff makes a "Queen City" joke to out an athlete he thinks is gay?

Charlotte is full of transplants. As long as they talk about Clemson football frequently, nobody's going to give a shit if they focus on a national agenda and not local Charlotte sports.

He would not “be great” because of a change in market. And I’m not sure why people think he’s shown either talent or dedication. He was handed an ideal situation and blew it by acting like an elitist asshole. This is a guy who could not make it through a semester at Carbondale.

Exactly. He won’t have a white guilt enabling PD / GM in Charlotte of all places that’s gonna put up with “there it is “ , let him walk in 10 mins before air time and spew his garbage . He’s toxic.

He’s got his next built in excuse if it doesn’t work out that Charlotte is full of redneck racist good ol boys who only want to talk NASCAR. Right there for ya!

Yeah, I don't get the hate for Jason. I don't think Bernsie was the best combo for him but he seems like a pretty good guy. His show with, ironically, Mac in Atlanta was pretty good and Mac sucked. Goff carried that show until the dude quit and the show got better as a solo host.

Just trying to carve out a career in something he's been into since he was a teenager. Agreed Seacrest, good luck Jason.

I don't buy the his show in Atlanta was good at all Doc. With the dearth of talent in sports talk radio, good talent that can bring ratings and revenue don't get shitcanned over salsa. He's not going to last in any market . I don't buy that he's learned anything at all. You are what you are at this point in your broadcast career. He's chosen the Bernstein way and now he has to live with it. Fuck him .

I'm not saying the ratings were any good. Seems like they weren't.

But it was an easy show to listen to. Better when that Mac guy quit and moved to Florida.

Sincerely,

Fellow 815'er.

I wish him well. I think he’s a decent enough individual. I just didn’t care for B&G for all the reasons we posted in the show threads.

That Mac guy is horrible. He picks up occasional shifts on MLB Network Radio and he's easily the worst co-host on there.

This is interesting. Goff willing to move again to pursue the radio dream. Different now with a lady and a baby. God bless her for willing to move with him without being married after 2+ years of engagement.

1. I disagree, Doc. Bernstein was the perfect partner for Goff. He fucked it up.

2. If he's the same in the South he'll be fired quicker than he was here. As much as Goff hates us Chicago crackers, the Southern crackers are worse. They're not gonna put up with his cocky/arrogant ass as much as we did.

I could be misremembering here, but I could have sworn we once dropped in on the Atlanta equivalent of this place and/or the Atlanta equivalent of Feder and that the consensus among the locals was along the lines of "who's this jerk from up north who keeps bragging about how great he is?"

Someone posted some articles once with comment sections....that seemed to be the consensus, though some really appreciated his NBA knowledge. Not sure if that's what you meant.

Yeah I’m pretty sure the residents of Atlanta had probably never heard of LeBron before Goff took to the airwaves there .

Didn't Goff make a Facebook or Twitter post about getting pulled over, implied it was just because he was black, but we later found out it was because he was driving with expired out of state license plates?

I know that those two things happened but I don't remember whether it was the same incident.

Give credit to Goff's "Lady". Not even married yet, has a kid with him and is willing to move to North Carolina? I'd want a wedding before I agree to this if I were her.

At some point she's gonna get sick of him chasing this radio shit. Especially if he's gonna be stubborn and not willing to change his act.

It's cool that Goff is keeping it real and all of that shit. But eventually the lady is gonna say "Is a night time slot in Alabama radio worth keeping it real?"

Beardown, it's a tryout, which makes it weird that you're saying "Goff is so crazy, he's terrible, and he already has a permanent job before his tryout started!"

But you don't take a tryout unless you want to land the gig. So it's not weird.
