Seriously, everyone is aware I've already called dibs on the rights to this story, correct?

I think I will have Meredith Baxter Birney play Larz - and, of course, Corky will play Ed Sherman.

What a wacky story. Figures the guy couldn't make it out of IL, and couldn't "complete" his suicide. Something tells me that this scumbag won't be reborn again in 10 years with another scam .... will be interesting to see how the rest of this plays out.

does anyone think the suicide attempt is convenient for his defense?

Wow, that's good. I'm seeing serious possibilities here. How does one go about applying for a screenwriter's job? I mean, we on this board should make this picture (or at the very least, be consultants). Who knows the North saga and the Chicago radio scene better than us? Not Ed Sherman; he was too busy eating pastries off the Sox dessert cart.

You got to admit though -- you wouldn't have thought to look in Normal. Nor DeKalb or any other town where Motel 6 and/or Hampton Innn has a franchise...

He must just suck. Here's what the Sun-Times said:
"Wanted financier David Hernandez was taken into custody in Downstate Normal on a federal mail fraud warrant Monday and is in a hospital there recovering from non-threatening injuries that appear to be self-inflicted, Normal police said."
Non-threatening injuries usually means injuries to the outer body. I'm guessing the idiot tried slashing his wrists with an expensive electric shaver.

Scratch. Read the latest AP...renders this useless.

Now I'm stuck for the rest of the night with this image of a guy on the floor in a cheap Normal motel room, curled up in a ball, trying to kick himself in the head with the Dean Martin music playing in the background. Thanks.

How about Fred Willard as Chet Coppock:

and speaking of Meredith Baxter Birney, how about the guy who played Skippy from Family Ties as Tom Shaer:

Maybe the Dean Martin music will be played when North takes the stand in Federal Court!!!!!

This should be some of the best entertainment North has provided us yet.

What a witness list...North and Bebe laying out the sham company they were officers of....the creation of the company.....what their salaries were....the absolutely incredible testimony as to how they go into a venture and don't ask the money man any questions as to the source of the financing for the enterprise....North's past dealings with the defendant.

Chet Coppock can come in and testify at the sentencing hearing screaming for the maximum sentence for Hernandez right after a spot for American Taxi Dispatch.

United States of America vs. David Hernandez with 20 minute updates from George Ofman....

Food provided to deliberating jurors by Tony's Italian Deli, Browns Chicken and the Gale Street Inn.

I think the keyword in the news release is that he FAILED his suicide attempt. North must have been involved.

Tomorrow's MITM show will be golden. I'll tape any North comments on my phone and upload them when I get to work. Complete with my Boers and Bernstein like commentary for Darkside and Coach Crapowski
