It seems every post on LoHo comes down to the realization that he is a psychologically troubled individual whose pathetic attempts to manage his insecurities do nothing but bring on more ridicule.

My own sense is that he struggles with his sexuality and hasn't found the courage--or support system--to come to terms with who he really is. You can search the threads for the analysis (infantile depictions of women, reliance of TV sterotypes for heterosexual relationships, his obsession with his mother, romantic attraction to Bernsie, etc...)

I think if he actually did explore the origins of his self-hatred that it would do him a world of good. It also might help his job performance. I don't think he is inherently stupid, per se. He is just controlled by his insecurities.

I've had friends like him before. When these folks actually start the process of self-reflection, the have moved from being incredibly annoying and boring to being stand-up people.

If LoHo came out of the closet and had the courage to defend his core identity, I think the whole gay black man persona would actually serve him quite well in a place like Chicago which is relatively tolerant of sexual difference.

It is too bad he has so cemented his loser mentality, since a confessional appearance on Oprah or something could be a real career boost. Unfortunately for him, he could never get on Oprah because he is basically a nobody.

I wholeheartedly agree that he should be called out for saying idiotic things, but the whole situation is quite sad, really.

That's quite an analysis.

I just think he sucks at his job.

The B&B show is about phycoanalysis. They break down players, fans and anybody else they feel like breaking down. Bernstein does it all the time. Then he pulls the strings on Terry to get a "Yep, that's right." It's a big part of the show. The Score people are a unique sociological study for the people of Chicago. A lot of messed up people work there. Tortured and disturbed people. It's on display for all of us every day.

The best phycoanalysis scene in the history of cinema is when Lector broke down everything about Clarice in less than a minute.

If you hate Laurence, then don't listen - don't comment. When he co-hosts the B&B show, take that day off ... listen to an old podcast of a Bernstein solo show and jerk off all day.

There is no control over at the Score. These guys have way to much freedom to say whatever they want about whatever the hell they want. In one sense that's good. In another it's not. I remember Tall Midget once saying of Goff "He just says every insane, illogical, idiotic and disgusting thought that pops into his had at any given moment." It's true of all of them. But especially the 4 on the B&B show and Larry. Because there are no rules, it is revealed to us just how sick and twisted these sumbitches are.

ESPN 1000 has rules and structure. They don't allow the stuff to go on. Dirty sex jokes, death jokes, racist jokes, strange race disscussions and all of the other weird and twisted thoughts and discussions that Score people have isn't allowed at ESPN. Not by the national hosts or the local people.

There is such a comfort level at the Score where sometimes discussions are just dumb stories that nobody but the hosts and other Score people care about. It's amazing how the Score got to this point. Bernstein is the main reason. He started this trend.

Like the other day. Drinky and Goff were talking about the first time they saw boobs and who they want to bang in Hollywood. Larry then got a text from a listener, annoyed that he has to hear this type of talk from 2 guys over the age of 35, saying "When you guys gonna talk sports"? Larry, in an angry and defiant voice, said "Whenever we feel like it." To me it seems these guys forget that they work for a sports station and it's not all about them. And why not? Mitch doesn't say anything. He should. He needs to save some of these guys from themselves. Way to often they make fools of themselves.

At the very least, Mitch should limit this content freedom power at the Score. Give it to the day part starters only. Bernstein is very good sometimes at his anecdotal humor and non sports related stories and random thoughts. He's got some talent and deserves the freedom.

No more carte blanche for on air discussions for everybody else. Not for Larry. Not for the backups. Only sports talk out of them from now on. They don't deserve content freedom. They're not that interesting or funny. It's just "I'm gonna say stupid shit for a reaction." No. I'm ending that right now. We can put kids on the air if we want this. This is my new policy for the Score. I expect Mitch to put it into effect starting Monday. There. Solved.

In all fairness, it's not reasonable to expect hard sports talk from 10 to midnight.

Ok. Am I allowed to expect more than this conversation?

Drinky: When was the first time you saw boobies?

Larry: Hmmmmm. That's a really, really, really good question.

Drinky: I know. While your thinking of that, what actress would you most like to bang?

Larry: Hmmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Well, yes, that's bad radio. Larry seems to really fancy himself a Classically Trained Radio Pro, and while he may "know what to do," he's doesn't do it very well, and as such has been responsible for too much crappy programming, like the dialogue you paraphrased.
