It seems every post on LoHo comes down to the realization that he is a psychologically troubled individual whose pathetic attempts to manage his insecurities do nothing but bring on more ridicule.
My own sense is that he struggles with his sexuality and hasn't found the courage--or support system--to come to terms with who he really is. You can search the threads for the analysis (infantile depictions of women, reliance of TV sterotypes for heterosexual relationships, his obsession with his mother, romantic attraction to Bernsie, etc...)
I think if he actually did explore the origins of his self-hatred that it would do him a world of good. It also might help his job performance. I don't think he is inherently stupid, per se. He is just controlled by his insecurities.
I've had friends like him before. When these folks actually start the process of self-reflection, the have moved from being incredibly annoying and boring to being stand-up people.
If LoHo came out of the closet and had the courage to defend his core identity, I think the whole gay black man persona would actually serve him quite well in a place like Chicago which is relatively tolerant of sexual difference.
It is too bad he has so cemented his loser mentality, since a confessional appearance on Oprah or something could be a real career boost. Unfortunately for him, he could never get on Oprah because he is basically a nobody.
I wholeheartedly agree that he should be called out for saying idiotic things, but the whole situation is quite sad, really.
That's quite an analysis.
I just think he sucks at his job.
