Didn't Murph spend considerable time in this "Diversity Shift"? I could be wrong........

Also Matty, Paruch and a few others have logged considerable minutes on this shift as well.

Murph did it 20 years ago. Since he has left, I believe the slot has gone Hood, Jiggetts, Goff/drinky combo, Sir...and how many other people of any color have recieved any significant day part air time over that stretch?

I promise you if you asked Goff and Sir off the air, they would tell you that they noticed the disparity.

Jiggetts, Laurence and Hood have all spent somewhat to very considerable amount of time in daypart shifts/shows.

Goff is pretty much the go to guy to fill in on all kinds of different shifts.

There does appear to be something to the Diversity Shift though.

Fill in means nothing. It is by definition token work. Full time shows are a committment.

I make no bones about it that I think Hood is the best. He would have flourished in mid days leading into B and B. He got a raw deal, didn't handle it well and now we are stuck with the toy pinscher as the only non white talent being developed in the entire city.

I'll bet if took a look at all local sports stations across the country you would find that the day part shifts are dominated by white males in their 40s and 50s. All of the national sports radio hosts are white as well. It's the man!!!! It's systematic racism!!!

Sports columnists in newspapers have mostly been white too. Especially in our city.

Now, black people dominate Sports on local TV. Especially in our city.

adding to your point, then we are further insulted by stepum fetchit former pro atheletes being used as the diversity opinion

Let's again start speculation about what he makes. I say $100,00-$125,000.

250,000 X 4% Cost of living = 260,000

So start there. Probably 300

Could not be more wrong

We know he already made 250k

250k x .04= 10K

250k + 10K = 260K

You gotta remember, Im going low end. This is AT LEAST what he makes

It's a fluid situation. I'm willing to give him a chance if he is willing to accept and be comfortable with who he is.

I think he is comfortable with himself to the same extent that everyone else is. Does he sometimes (obviously) fabricate certain things like his toughness from time to time? Sure. The majority of his show is exactly who he is. Hot local reporters, gym stories, comics, good sports thoughts, making references to things he thinks nobody gets but everybody gets. That is genuine. If you don't like the content, that's another story and I completely understand that. But the "He's being fake" thing is overused at this point...

With only one good show on the score it makes this a moot point. Even so, I still put Mac ahead of him.

B&B
Mac
LoHo
Grobber
Score Values
Static when driving thru a tunnel
The State Farm commercials
Mully and Hanley

I think you meant "2 Live Stews", and they've sat in on "ESPN First Take" with know-it-all Skip Bayless debating "1st and 10" from time to time. LoHo & Goff ripped that show last night during transition.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Bonnie Bernstein doesn't do traffic. Bonnie GREENE does on The SCORE's morning show. "Ask Herb" is a weekly segment with you know who at night, and I wonder if Laurence will need advice himself once Paula Faris leaves for ABC News in New York...

I'll go one step further. There was no option to be picked up. Larry said the Score picked up his 2012 and 2013 option. What? Didn't Larry just announce that he signed a 3 year deal a few months ago? Then you have a Score option so soon? No. If the Score wanted him when they signed him there is no need to have a "club option" so quick. That makes no sense. I'm not saying options aren't done in radio, but not a few months after you just signed.

Like I said, he just posted that on twitter to get people off the scent of NBC 5 and to get people to stop asking and speculating.

Maybe Doc is right, though. Maybe Zimmerman is playing hard ball with NBC 5. Not cuz he wants to keep Larry, he could care less, Larry's are a dime a dozen to Zim. He'll find another one for that inconsequential shift. But maybe Zim is thinking he can get money from NBC 5 for the Score allowing Larry out. It's worth a shot for Zim. No down side. We've all learned he's all about squeezing people in contracts negotiations. Why wouldn't he try to squeeze NBC 5?

I'm not knocking Larry for throwing out this misdirection. It's a good way to stop speculation and questions. You can't fool me, though.

There is just too much smoke for their not to be a fire here: Doc breaking the story a month ago, the changing of Larry's twitter account, Big Fan making hints about something happening with Goff, Drinky coming on this board with several weird and angry posts, and the news women at NBC 5 having triple locks installed on their office doors.

This is going down. It will be a boost for the Score and the demise of NBC five.
