I could see not liking him but too many people think he's funny to dismiss it.

If he was gone things would be a lot more boring.

li'l danny is pretty much a monster right now. Boers tempers all of danny's worst instincts to some degree. You see when Terry isn't there you got stupidity like the infamous Giacomo call.

There are only a handful of guys at the station who could be paired with bernstein without danny just running them over- Rozner, Rosenbloom, Mac, Mulligan, and maybe drinky. Mac and Mully ain't gonna happen. Rozner or Rosenbloom might be okay for awhile, but it's ultimately gonna be too Jewish, especially Rosie. In the long haul it would come off like a sixties Catskills act. drinky might be okay, but his default when bernstein frustrates him is to pout and whine. I don't blame drinky. It can be very difficult to take a logical approach with bernstein. That's why Terry's odd noises work so well.

I think Boers makes the bad parts about Danny worse by never, ever disagreeing with him or calling him out on any of his crap. Daniel needs somebody to sit his butt down once in a while.

Terry is the master of faux agreement and odd noises. That's part of what's so funny. He obviously doesn't always agree with danny. I don't think he really agrees with him very much at all. He just doesn't care enough to challenge him. That's his shtick.
