Indeed.

Good points by Frank and Speeps. or Frankenspeeps.

i was going to ask what were their ratings from the last period.... that's a 20% drop.... what was MVP's rating from Jan?

and I also want to see what was mcneil's ratings from the period were

In January, CJH was a 2.6 as well. So they've stayed stagnant.

It's been three months and nothing has changed.

I guess if Delevett just came out and said that he's sticking to a plan, everyone would praise him too.

The perfect counter show would be one that chooses to argue with the athletes and management. A show that says Theo,Gar or whoever is anidiot. A show that doesn't mock a fanbase.

is your new show called "meatball nation"?

I like it!!

So ESPN remained stagnant, yet B&B still failed to gain any ground.

My point still stands. If the trend continues, B&B will not be ahead of W&S for very long.

Bring in North,Murph & Coppock to take over that slot. Now that would draw a crowd!

Honestly, AM1000 needs a shakeup & these 3 guys would certainly boost ratings. Both stations are stale as hell & need a re-org.

So radio stations that are "stale" and need a "shakeup" are in dire need of guys who were forced out of the market ~4-5 years ago?

To use jimmypasta's metaphor, that's like getting sick of the trusty dependable car with 150k miles and "shaking things up" by buying some volvo lover's baby with 300k miles on it.

To be the man, you have to beat the man.

A new radio show and the ratings dont move at all. Just shows that some people just put on 1000 and are happy to get fed Mouse shit all day long.

To be the man, you have to act like the man. Losing ratings points for 2 books in a row is not acting like the man.

Sox baseball is killing the ratings.... yeah that's the ticket.

oh, and ESPN1000 already had murph either last year or in 2011, but then he just kind of quietly disappeared rather quickly with no explanation given. fred stuck around and his role grew at the station, but it seemed that he disappeared almost as quickly as he just popped up out of nowhere to do his weekend show.

so if they already had the guy in their programming fold and they sent him to go hang out with hoffa.... what makes anyone think they'd "shake up" their "stale" programming by getting a guy whom they encased in concrete?

also, if you were to shake up something stale, semantically speaking, you'd just disperse the stale smell around at a much quicker rate.... but then again, who am i to nitpick?

Those 3 would do nothing for ratings.

Murph always had good ratings & his show was the highest rated show on the Score when he was forced out. There is no doubt in my mind that he would get better ratings than any of the current shows in the AM1000 lineup.
J Hood deserves a shot & he would be good in any prime time slot. I hope he gets a chance at some point.

dude, did you miss the part where i pointed out that THEY HAD MURPH AT ESPN1000 DOING WEEKEND SHOWS AND HIS RATINGS EVIDENTLY WEREN'T "GOOD" ENOUGH TO WARRANT HIS SHOW LASTING FOR MORE THAN ~2-3 MONTHS ON THE WEEKENDS!?!?!?

But I forgot how blue-coded citizen logic works.... since you said that Murph always had good ratings and it was the highest rated show at the Score, what happened in the past @ ESPN1000 is of no relevance and therefore if they go against..... their previous decisions and bring Murph back to a fulltime weekday gig, well then the ratings will rise up out of nowhere and destiny will manifest itself! Thank you, blue-coded citizen!

The funny part is that I actually would enjoy Murph being back on a full-time basis because there's something purely safe and nostalgic about his formulaic stale little shakeweight of a show, something that harkens back to my lost adolescence, however I happen to have this nagging problem where I notice things, such as Murph having a run on ESPN1000 that mysteriously ended very quickly even tho they kept Fred and extended his role all over the place.

Nah.... just say he'll get great ratings and it's exactly what the station needs. The devil is in the details, and I'm a good god fearing man, not a satanist!

Actually,ESPN would benefit from revolving CSFMB radio hosts.

I've already pitched Delevitt The JORR and Bucky Chris Show.

We'll see what comes of it.

Obviously Murph is mentally unstable and that is why he can't keep a gig, not because of his ratings.

yeah, that's the point i'm trying to make.... i have no idea what went down, but it seemed funny that they rolled out the Murph and Fred weekend show and like, seriously, I made it a point to try and listen whenever I could.... but then it just up and disappeared.

So whether it was low ratings, or whether it was some behind the scenes stuff, or whether Murph started banging Delevitt's wife or something.... Murph was disappeared real quick, and Fred has remained all over the station.... especially on weekends (Talking Baseball, solo sunday shows, etc) -- The point is that Fred didn't come over to ESPN1000 alone.

Maybe I don't give Scorehead enough credit... he could be sarcastic and I'm just too dumbass and pigheaded to see it =D

And now Gary from Evanston is dead so B&B just keeps losing more and more listeners.

B and B's drop is a concern, but so is the fact that the numbers for CJH are the same as S & W.
Peeps, Frank and others seem more in Barry Horowitz mode at this point.

That's a major drop for B&B. I usually never listen anymore, so I'm not sure how many times the Sox have pre-empted them. I would think that would be a pretty major factor.

As Brian just said though, if that many people are leaving B&B but aren't going to Silvaddle, that's disturbing.

I saw it mentioned, but is it a given that Cutler is still doing his show? Only reason I ask, is the practice schedule. Not sure how Trestman will mix it up, and if his off time will be during afternoon drive.

I think AM1000 is running a commercial or promo already for the Jay Cutler show. The coach is also back.
