yeah, I don't see the reason for that label. As a host he can talk basketball, which is no small feat in this town. But there are tons of people who can take the 'expert' role because they do it full-time. B&B have had Zach Harper from CBSSports.com and he's totally fine and enjoyable. He's merely a dude with a column but he's singularly focused at least.

I haven't heard a thing on the Score yet, but I haven't listened uninterrupted all day. I'll be
tuned in the last hour here.

Apparently the Score has the Hub Arkush school of thought when it comes to the internet.

I've seen some people writing they wouldn't mind Goff getting the gig with Spiegel. Question: is this because you enjoy Goff the radio host or because it's the least annoying option, i.e., it's not drinky, a bland ex-Bear, Rozner, or Grote?

The latter, assuming that Spiegel is getting that spot regardless. That said, they did seem to have actual radio chemistry together when the pairing was tried out.

I think Goff knows sports and he and Meat would compliment each other. I really do not think for one second that Meat would let Goff take this show Bernsie style.

I think Goff is a guy who is likeable, which is different than just about anyone else besides drinky. I would hope that personality would come out during a regular 4 hour shift.

I'm at the point with the Score these days where I'd be satisfied not disliking everyone on the air.

Oh man, but you best believe that he has hung out in places like the hallway at the United Center - where else would you be able to get inside info from the cool Andy Frain guy?

It's shocking to me that radio producers are somehow slapped with an "expert" label - and we just move forward. Goff is an NBA expert, that Zawaski guy is an NHL expert --- OK. I'm not fan of guys like Bruce Levine, but it must make him sick to hear dolts like this touted as "experts".

So there hasn't been an announcement yet? Did Goff jump the gun? Did he proclaim he was hired before the radio station actually hired him? What if they don't?

That would be embarrassing.

I thought Goff's tweet sounded weird. Cuz he wasn't even sure if it was gonna be announced for sure. So why tweet anything?

Sounds like who ever he's working for is a second rate organization. Maybe that describes SCR, maybe it doesn't.

Big Fan got the scoop!!!! Who was trying to pull the strings? No way it was Bernstein.

I told Goff to be careful in Atlanta. Especially with it being a CBS station. Fucked up a soft landing spot back at his old station where he had no boss, rules or restrictions.

Hard to be wrong twice within such a small amount of words but you managed to do it.

Bernstein would never lift a finger to help anyone that he doesnt feel 200% is coming back his way. Do you see him pushing for Matty to have a show? NO. So he isnt pushing for anyone. he just likes nudges them out the door.

Then he will be able to create his own army of 5'4" little nebishes from well respected institutions of higher learning that embrace all his views and see him as the role model of what should be. :D

I know he wouldn't lift a finger for Goff. Just wondering who did.

And yeah, Bernstein thinks drinky is every bit as dumb as his dumbest caller. So he's not helping him out either. But SCORE listeners should be happy about that. Bernstein is embarrassed that drinky is on his tree.

So what are you saying, Big Fan? That Goff's return to the Score was gonna be announced today. Or at least Goff thought so. Then, at the last minute, Zimmerman said "No, we can't do it".

  So once again he announces something big was going to happen and it doesn't ? At least he's consistent .
