Can't speak to people not liking UK slang in general, but I think the main point here is that July's use of such slang is so obviously an affectation. She's not using the term because she's otherwise immersed in conversation where it is used regularly (she works with other Americans covering primarily American sports), but rather because she wants to create an air of regalness about herself. She wants to tell others, and herself, that despite being born, raised, working and living in America, she's Not Like Them; She's worldly, she's cultured, she's....not really American, because America is bad.

July must not have fired off any decent takes in a while if you penises are roasting her for using the word "sorted".
