I remember reading an interview with Rock Mamola where he said, to Mitch's credit, that Mitch told him "you're mediocre on air, you may as well go work someplace else." Compare that with Julie, also mediocre in an on-air role, who only succumbed to mass layoffs due to an overextended merger during a pandemic. If anything, I think they had high hopes for her, not marginalizing her.

Her weeknight & weekend shows with Maggie were better than anything on the Score now (that's not sayin' much). She had a knack for getting decent phones calls and had some interesting guests. She shelved her monster Twitter persona for the most part on air. Texters heavily pranked her with her lack of sports knowledge. She got a lot of soccer moms calling that were good callers. Her and Maggie could replace Parkins & Spiegal and it'd be a big upgrade. It has to frustrate her she couldn't progress at the Score knowing the hosts were the stations all-time worst crew she couldn't jump over.

Julie literally auditioned for a job at WBEZ when they were going through one personnel shift or another in middays. That's probably her natural home, doing an hour-long weekend show about The Serious Issues Women Face In Sports, Particularly One Woman, Me, but with the death of Sound Opinions I don't think they're running anything local on the weekends, just NPR News and glorified podcasts.
