God, Glenbrook North was 22 years ago. I remember discussing it in class the next day.

But yeah, that's why I don't think Julie really believes this shit in her heart of hearts and is just keeping up appearances for the trans-obsessed and trans-infested media class. End of the day, she's a woman in her early 50s who has probably had feminist leanings for most of her adolescent/adult life. I'm supposed to believe that men so socially awkward, narcissistic, and porn-addicted as to assume the identities of women don't disgust her on some visceral, instinctive level?

Yeah, but what about the track batons?

Hey Tone! He said his batons were pretty solid. I said "what about the track batons?" Heh.

Well we know it's not just about the mass of the object... also it's inertia. A bullet hitting you when thrown at you at 213 fps is a lot different than one hitting you at 1100 feet per second fired from a gun.

there are some women i know that consider themselves big feminists but they also hammer this "transgender women are women" mantra. i think these women, unlike dicaro who is just a media whore, just want to ignore the fact that these are still biological men dressing themselves up in the most cliche, sexist way possible to pass as female. they go against every feminist instinct but i think their heart is in the right place. their head isn't, but this is women we're talking about here amirite.

Unfortunately MANY transgender women can barely find any clothes that fit them correctly, which makes it very difficult to have much of a choice in wearing something cliche or sexist.

At the end of the day Northbrook will always be on the wrong side of the Edens to be the North Shore. No matter how hard they try. Apparently Glenview has the same haughty, snobbish complex to it now but I still know Glenview as a military town.

As for Julie, Idk. She’s like the most mind broken, pozzed, internet addicted culture warrior of them all. I don’t know if she can even contextualize a pizza menu without a social justice lens. Normal, less involved & insane people than her I think you’re right.

My dad's side of the family all went to Glenbrook South. They were snobs then, too.

Non-locals will never understand Chicago Suburb Hierarchy Neurosis. Someone's gotta publish a canonical list so that we can have some closure instead of silently fretting over whether Arlington Heights is better or worse than Buffalo Grove.

My perception was always that Golf (literally across the tracks) was the snobby one and that Glenview was loud, smelled like turbojet grease but had a surprisingly good school district.

Golf isn't real. It's just a speed trap cut out of Glenview.

Northbrook and Glenview always just felt like normal suburbs to me growing up. It was sort of understood that they were Nice Towns, but they didn't feel like Barrington or Inverness, where you were constantly reminded that golf and horses were very important parts of life. Obviously the Glen gave it a lot more nouveau-riche puffery, but it was always just good old 1960s suburbia to me. My grandma always took us to Moondoggie's, which was good.

Glenview is surprisingly diverse and like the broader suburban map, wealth tends to ramp up the further east you go. I don’t know that the broader town is that snobbish; maybe some pockets near North Shore but I’ve found Northbrook to be the more obnoxious of the two.

How do we know? You throw bullets at the range to compare?

It's physics man. It's not just a good idea, it's the law.
