Not yet. Goff is probably on his best behavior to get the gig. He'll eventually say these things. Then in another year he'll be telling the lady that they're going to another city for a radio tryout.

Why does Goff only get the South when it's not the SCORE? Why can't he find a Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit or Philly radio station.

I'm serious when I say this. He should look for Northern state radio gigs. The North would like Goff better. The South isn't a good spot for him.

I listened a bit on Tuesday. First thing they were discussing was OTAs. Kroeger said the BIG news today in Charlotte is that Cam Newton was 5 minutes late to practice. They almost closed the gates on him! Also, talked about how important it is to have a #1 WR to be successful in the NFL. Consensus was it’s good to have a #1 WR on your team.

Discussed hoops as well. Goff said the same thing he said about the Falcons and Hawks when he first got to Atlanta (“Are you guys cool with being mediocre every year or do you want championships?”), except Kroeger understood his point and the two were vibing back and forth as opposed to that Mac guy. He told Goff he thought the Hornets were close to being a playoff team in the East. Thought they were close to being the Pacers or Bucks. Goff told him no way. Texters agreed with Jason. They hardly took calls.

I assume Goff is trying out with a guy that has the gig and is looking for a partner. Thus the tryout.

Is this guy a country hill jack, a rube, a hillbilly? Or is he a good white? Like us yankee folk.

Just curious. Because while I know Goff is trying to get the gig, and he'll play nice for the tryout and pretend to get along, but if he is paired with a hillbilly it would be funny. It would go bad quickly with Goff and a bumpkin. Goff would go off on his ass in a month.

The Goff at the end was the real Goff. He called for firings for honest misspeaks, a Papa John's boycott. He's vicious and toxic.

Doing another midday stint on WFNZ in Charlotte after the guy that was holding that spot down got the gig to be a play-by-play radio announcer for the Hornets.

I got 1:00 into Laurence's introduction (he's trying so hard to sound thoughtful and measured as if the gravity of this conversation is so...significant) and decided it's not worth the eye roll-induced headache. I'll just read the comments in the thread.

No, some were fooled by him in small doses before they knew he was nuts.

The rest of us were on the cutting edge and knew he sucked from the beginning.

Goff was fine as a producer and occasional contributor, but I can't think of a time when he was a good host. His technique is awful, and his thoughts don't make up for it.

Him and Drinky hosting on the weekends were a good duo. Maybe both were only good in small doses. I wish him well in his future endeavors for his kid's sake.

i even think when terry was gone and it was the 3 of them (bernsie solo) it wasn't terrible. we didn't see it then but what its become is obviously worse.

Remember that the culture war wasn't raging in 2012 like it has been since Trump was elected. Even when he dropped down from middays to sit in with Dan, it wasn't the same tenor we would get with Bernstein & Goff.
