Is anyone going to RTS?

Bump. No one, except me?

There were at least a good 7-8 of us at the B&B roast......and that was $75.....I didn't know that $25 was that much more...

I think people knew what they were getting with the B&B Roast. This seems kind of strange. Hopefully it turns out ok...

I'd like to make it out there but don't think I will.

I have a message board where I can do insider jokes for my pathetic circle for free!

I just wanted to throw my two cents into the topic of the producers having to pay to go. If that is true (and, honestly, I'd be surprised if it is) it does put those people in a bad position. I'm sure they would like to attend and I would think that management would "encourage" them to go since it is a big event for the station. The "loyal employee" aspect kicks in and theses guys want to be team players to impress management in the hopes that they get an airshift, become full time, get a raise, etc. The problem is that for guys who do not make much money at all to be asked to pay $100 to attend the event is ridiculous. Would it be held against them if they didn't go? Who knows, but it is wrong to make them pay to attend the event. They are as much a part of the the continued success of the station as anyone else. If you want to debate that then I would say that you tell all the sales staff to pay. Why? Well, do you listen to the station to find out who the sales staff is? They are not even a part of the festivities...the on air talent is. The station has had success because of the on-air talent and the producers who put the show together. Without them the sales staff has nothing to sell.

Any company that I have worked for never had the employees pay for anything when they had a major get-together. That included full and part time employees. Much like a wedding, people were allowed to bring one guest. What you do is you get a head count of how many people from the station will be attending then go from there. In this case, if the station and the host facility agreed on a comp deal (the hall in exchange for numerous mentions) then they should have factored in the producers as a part of the total number of employees attending.

Lastly, I am surprised that there has not been any mention of stories from the night. Honestly, I thought there would have been more information on how it went and what went down. I didn't read any references to stories told (except the Murph and marijuana story). I checked all the threads but didn't see anything about how Drinky was, what he said...or Bernsy and what he said...and so on. I know that come Monday the station will talk about how great of an event it was, but I was looking for more information.

If producers had to pay to go, I would like a formal explanation from management on this board. Producers wouldn't be team players if they asked, so they can at least read it here. That is some bullshit. If that isn't true, I didn't make this post.
