Matty did a fine job wrapping it up and it was far from bad, just not as good as when Mac put the work into it, which is needed for this event.

You were dancing in a cage?

Is your friend's charity in a bad '80s action movie?

Hold on to yourself Gloop, not tough for you, Spiegs has a really nice swing. It actually saddened me when I realized The Round Mound of Sound has a nicer swing than me.
He don't look so good, but his swing is sweet.

No way a guy close to 4 spins has a nice golf swing. Its gotta be all arm & wrist because there is no way that he has the flexibility to turn, flex & torque.

I know, no way i would have bet on it. I don't know about the flexing and torquing, but Senior Pants has got himself a nice start to a golf game. But I think his golf has been replaced by twitter and poker.

I happen to arrive at the same time Olken did at the check in desk. He walks up to a group of interns and says "Steve Olken, rush chairman, damn glad to meet ya" to these kids who look at him like he is crazy. I then explain to him, that not one of these kids has a clue what you are talking and you should know your audience....he agreed....

That's sad. Animal House should be required viewing forever.

Animal House is grotesquely overrated.

Everything's overrated. That doesn't make it any less essential.

It's only essential for its cultural references.

It's not exceptionally funny in any particular way. I blame the The Big Chill Baby Boomer crowd.

It's funnier than Caddyshack. Do people still watch that?

At any rate, I don't think there's a cultural allusion a Score intern would get. I picture them responding to anything with a blank stare, a mumbled "ok," and then half the time falling over like a sack of potatoes from the cognitive overload of people communicating with words.

every dickbag frat guy around the country has watched Animal House. There is a never ending crop of dickbag frat guys produced each year

I bet more of them know Animal House than Steve Olken. I didn't even know that guy was still working in Chicago. For all you youngsters out there, Steve Olken was a member of possibly the worst sports talk shows in the history of sports talk radio. This was the early days of the Score when the station signed off at sunset. The Sports Huddle would sign on on 670 (which was a news station at the time) and provide coverage for those of us needing more talk.

Steve Olken did Saturday mornings with Dave Baum and occasional scoreboards up through 2006 or maybe 2007. Dan and Terry had been making fun of Ron Santo and his diabetes as usual, and I guess Olken made it known that this, as a fellow diabetic, upset him. Then he stopped appearing on the Score for a long time. Did he ragequit the Score over Bernstein being a douche, or did Bernstein have him fired for challenging his ability to make fun of the chronically ill? The world may never know and probably doesn't need to.
