I used to post a lot on the Yahoo Finance Stock message boards. You could set up all sorts of screen names with just one login. I started out posting my real thoughts about companies. Soon, I noticed that people would just troll you all day. No matter how lucid your opinion, you would find people with multiple ID's doing the good/cop bad cop routine. Well there was this one guy named Bob Monski (stock scammer per link below). He pissed off so many people on the board that he became a legend. Then someone fought back. They created a website like "ihatebobmonski.com". They pasted a supposed picture of his head on all sort of nude photos. They had a picture of him going into his trailer home. They had details about his wife cheating on him. And they even posted a copy of a letter where he fired from his job. It was glorious and sad all at the same time.

Anyone who wants to can find heavily moderated sites where people are forced to be reasonably polite. The problem is, the number of users is limited.

It really is amazing how many people don't really understand social media. It's just various platforms to facilitate human interaction. Controlled social media is boring. It's the equivalent of "we just have to play them one game at a time." Every reporter worth his/her salt is going to hate those types of responses from an interview subject, but some of them seem to want it on a personal level.

Harness racing is a good example. There are a handful of real fans that tweet on the subject. Sometimes they lose bets and get nasty. Most of their shit is negative. I'm sure spmack may follow some of these guys (Greg Reinhart, Pull The Pocket, Inside The Pylons, etc.) But what they are is real. The harness racing establishment hates these guys. They want controlled social media. They're spending all kinds of money on a heavily moderated forum called Harness Fan Zone which nobody uses.

That's not really relevant though. Just because she deludes herself into thinking she hasn't brought this negative attention on to herself, doesn't mean we need to play along with that delusion. JORR has already given at least a dozen examples I think of women in sports on Twitter who don't receive this type of vitriol. I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't believe they deserve whatever consequences of their actions have been. Who gives a shit?

Also, it did counteract your post because I am saying she does not have the right to consider herself a victim, and explained why. And once again, this isn't saying she "deserves or is asking for it" because honestly that's not really relevant either. It's just how things are when you carry yourself the way someone like she does.

I actually think the insults on twitter and other social media is a good thing.

It's just people having a bad day and taking their frustrations out on people they don't know. Isn't that better than kicking the dog or beating the wife and kids. I think so. I think twitter insults has probably cut down on domestic violence.

So go ahead. Insult me. If that means your wives or girlfriends don't take a beating, then I'm helping the world.

You are taking one "leave money on the dresser" comment from rogue, which wasn't even said to her directly, and extrapolating it to being the same as multiple guys tweeting direct rape threats at her. I have no doubt that you know more about all of this than I do because I only visit this thread occasionally, but all of your conclusions are wrong. Also, since you know more about this correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that comment from rogue was not said just because she is a woman who went to the Score. IIRC, while she was on The Game she came out pretty stong against Bernsie and Spiegs for that stupid twitter boobs scandal, and then immediately took a job alongside them when The Game folded. Kerry Sayers was terrible at her job and there were threads here saying that. I don't remember anyone tweeting nasty things at her. It's pretty clear what the variables here are.
