It's a douche car driven by suburban mom's. There is almost no reason for Range Rover to exist outside of a safari setting. It's most attractive feature to its owners is that other people know they are driving an expensive car.

 It's one of the few good looking SUV's out their and it has the best interiors this side of a Bentley, enjoy driving your Polski Fiat on the freeway...

Easy now Jason.

I think Mac's issues pushed up their timeline a bit, as did Jason getting fired in Atlanta. If all went as planned, Jason would have been on the air for a handful of years in Atlanta when he would be brought back home to replace Terry. I think the fact that Mitch gave a recently-fired Jason Goff, who was doing an NBA Sirius show at the time, the midday show with Spiegs indicated that Goff was always an Heir Apparent. Problem is, Mac going AWOL and Mitch stupidly putting Mannelly on the air forced Goff into the fold prematurely, which meant he learned absolutely nothing from his Atlanta exodus, because he wasn't on Sirius long enough to taste the crow.

If you remember, there was some issue with him still being under contract in Atlanta. Mitch couldn't offer him one until it was up.

Congrats to Goff for climbing the ladder and being able to purchase the automobile that he wanted! I wish him well with whatever he decides to do.

Try to get back on topic, Goff was just bad as a host. The giggling, one sided rants, and arrogance turned people off and thus he has no job.

I know many say the same thing, the "old Goff" was fun. He is perfect in the role he played ala the Jackie Chair on Howard Stern. Chime in from time to time. Artie Lange played that role perfect until his addiction got the best of him.

Outside of this message board or fans of WSCR, most people have no idea who he is.

I wish him luck in his future.

Don Tiny if your going to be a smart ass at least get it right, "Thanks for you call"

On another note, it is funny to think that within I don't know 2 years Goff single handily ended the longest running show on Chi sports radio.

Well, that actually ended when Boers retired. But Goff did end Bernstein's 15 year run in afternoons. That only took one year. And I think Bernstein blames him.

I agree, there has to be some huge resentment in Bernstein to have his 15 year run in afternoons end and not only be demoted to mid day, but to be paired up with a millennial who right now does not seem to mesh. Hate to say it, but maybe jerk Bernstien was more entertaining.

Others on this board noticed it along with me. Goff was wearing on Bernstein in the last few months. Bernstein got angry at him a few times for the interruptions and the laughing.

I wish! I only had the Range Rover Sport, I was scum to the papa Range Rover owners.

It sucks that people get judged by the cars they own. If you go around bragging about it you're fair game, but if you own a nice car it doesn't mean you're loaded or a jag, just that you might have different priorities. Some people like a really nice house, some people like to take a lot of vacations, and some people like to buy nice cars.

As already explained it isn't the type of car,, it's the fact he referenced the car in his anti listener rant. It comes down to "stop listening, I don't care. I will still get paid, drive a Rover and wear 5000$ suits"

With financial decisions like that, he's going to be more broke faster than an NFL player who just got cut.

If you make it big in a media job or sports, you should honestly live modestly and put your money away as most likely your prime earning years in that gig will be short. Sustained, longterm success in either field is the exception, not the norm. Both are unforgiving businesses with few second chances.

He can, and we are allowed to make fun of him for driving the same car Stacey and Lilly do to yoga each day.

Even if money was no object, I think I would still just drive a standard pickup truck. I just never really cared that much about what I drive, as long as it sits up off the ground.

Got a brand new Mercedes 450 GL something in Denver recently because of being a repeat renter.

Nice car, but my first thought was, who pays $75K for this car?

anymore now, standard pickups new are 40-50k.

i have had my 2000 silverado for 10 years now. i don't want to upgrade til this bucket is dead.

and its DYING something fierce. its got rust in all the right places, the E brake is completely gone, i used wire to hold the shifting cable in place, the tranny is i think on its way out (it frequently drops into limp mode and i have to let it run for 30 seconds before it shifts right) leaks oil out of the manifold like crazy.
