I don't think they shut the transmitter down but I'm pretty sure The Game was shut down at the end of December 2014.

RIP 87.7 The Game

So, the night before 87.7 The Game--heretofore Julie's employer--goes dark, Dan Bernstein goes on a misogynistic twitter streak. The next day (JDC was conspicuously silent the night-of), Julie's first tweets about the subject were not about what was said, how bad it is, how bad it is from an afternoon drive time host with 40k+ twitter followers in a major market like Chicago, but about the apology from the man who reduced a woman's value to the size of her breasts. She was hired by TheScore the next month.

For a benchmark, here was Julie's response, about a month ago, to Dino Costa saying women have "no place in legitimate sports talk radio":

No, not really. I think she still is a part time contract employee. All of the SCORE update people are that way. I don't think any of them work more than 4 days. Fine. They got some buzz. People suck. Everybody knew that before twitter.

But of all of the problems in the world, people getting hate tweets is low on the list of the things I care about.

So they got the message out. What's gonna happen? We gonna hunt down these evil tweeters and kill them? Cuz it's not illegal to say mean things.

I'm just saying the people who tweet mean things aren't going to stop. Just like the guys on the SCORE aren't gonna stop saying mean things. So let's move on to more important issues. Like getting white women to stop throwing drinks in my face. I want to be interviewed about that. I want my issue to go viral. It's more important.

The one thing that chaps my ass is her repeated womantra that Twitter is her "life" and required for work. Fine. That being said, responding to trolls and even reading your mentions is not part of work. Some of these responses are horrible. Things no one should even say/write/whatever to another human. But, Julie, you aren't going to find a hot Bears lead in the 17th response to your tweet about shit-talking train tweet.
