Has the number of Julie's Twitter followers jumped over the last day or so? If so, it will be interesting to see where it is a month from now. Once people see her day-to-day tweets I think many might be like "Oh, hmmm...." and unfollow her.

Then again, I thought Bernstein would have caught more shit that he has so maybe not.

I would suggest that you put far too much faith in the unwashed masses being concurrently dopey enough to follow her Twitter, thoughtful enough to research her past tweets, and wise enough to then drop her like a sack of moldy potatoes.

Imagine this same scenario, only with Dan Bernstein and Tom Waddle in place of DiCaro and Spain. Would those guys have felt awkward reading those tweets? Would anyone feel bad about the video or expect others to feel bad?

Let's face it: that video would have never made it past the planning stage. No one would give one single shit. The only sense this is a gendered issue is the sense that our society is a shit-ton more protective of the feelings of women. If they're really looking to reach equality, they need to harden the fuck up and quit their whining.

In fairness to guys like Laurence Holmes & "his four breaking stories", when have journalists /update anchors/hosts like Sarah Spain or DiCaro actually broken ONE story that proved to be fair and/or accurate? When have they ever covered a team on a beat for more than a couple of fill in days, if that? I'll admit to not knowing or caring who Andrea Hangst is or what she does, so I won't speak to her credits.

Hell, Sara Ganim from some Podunk paper in Pennsylvania accurately got her teeth into one big sports related story & parlayed it into a job @CNN. I mean it's not quite pimping your giant rack for Super Bowl tix & a token job on the four letter, but at least she has one. Now that I think about it, even in the old Laurence Holmes "Four Breaking Stories" thread here he had one or two(?) and still got/gets blasted sideways for his weirdness, perceived arrogance & style as a fill-in/part time host. In his certain to be jealous rage, I'm almost afraid to see what victim card he'll come up with to get back into the "limelight".
