I love how Murph is already burying Lou Pinella, comparing him to Dusty just for a few preseason remarks Lou has made. Newsflash Murph: Maybe you should wait at least a few months INTO THE FUCKING SEASON before you start making determinations.

We knew it would happen at some point, just a little early this season. Murhy is extremely predictable with Cub managers - he loves them at first, and then tears them down. Must be some kind of disorder.

Losing has that effect on Cub fandome. Remember, "in dusty we trusty" We where all jumping on the Dusty bandwagon. In the end he was more hated then D.Baylor.

No what it is is that generation of cubs fans he belongs to....1969. Of course NOBODY could ever be a better cubs manager than Leo right! Murph's generation can't let go of that 69 loser team.

That's why I can't stand Murphy's interviews. You asked your guest to come on and talk, let him do that!!! Otherwise, just talk over George.

Murph is a two trick pony, rip the Cubs no matter what and praise the Sox for every time one of them farts. Murph is just a shallow man who thinks a good show is him ripping apart someone after hearing what he wants to hear.

Yeah, I've noticed that Murph is a big Sox fan who can't stop talking about and praising them on his show.

"Now how do youuuuu the Sox fan feel that Kenny Williams said that they would spend the money for a contender once fans started filling the seats!! Kenny Williams lied to you fine Sox fans." Guess what Murph, the Sox have a payroll of over $100 million. They have spent the money. Wisely? In some areas. But, stop driving home the perception that the Sox haven't spent any money the last couple years. Get lost Murph, and go away.

I think Kenny Williams is more responsible for this anything. We didn't increase add anyone meaningful because the market was out of control, and we're probably not going to be able to keep our upcoming free agents as well once they hit the market as well, though I'm holding out hope for Dye returning. We're in the process of rebuilding the pitching staff because we can't afford to resign our current starters once they hit the market.

Not saying this is all bad planning, in fact, I like all of the young pitching options that Williams has acquired. Saying that, it does get frustrating when it appears that we can't resign our own free agents (I realize we can't sign them all), much less add a meaningful free agent after near record crowds, and with new revenue sources (higher ticket prices, advertising deals like 7-11, and the new CBA).

I do feel like this team is taking a small step back with the gamble that it will have a strong staff for the next few seasons. I'm hoping that we can battle for the division though as it should be extremely competitive all season long. Hopefully, Gavin Floyd/Charlie Haegar will grab that 5th spot and add 10-12 wins out of it, and the bullpen, with all those power arms, can live up to the hype that it's getting.

Not to defend Murph, but if you take away what the Phil are chipping in to pay thomes salary and what the d-backs are chipping in to pay Vazquez, their payroll isnt over 100mil.
