It's just hard for me to listen to Bears and Grossman talk while the NBA is in the home stretch (and your team is battling for seeding), spring training has begun, and the NCAA tournament is starting. Talk about beating a dead horse. And I heard him say "I've been sitting on this topic thinking about how to present it to you for a few weeks". Huh? You had this great idea to talk about Rex Grossman? Brilliant!

Laurence actually thinks people give a shit what he thinks up while sitting home alone.

I heard him say this exact same thing a couple weeks ago about some other topic on a weekend show. Exactly the same phrasing.

It's sports radio. You don't need to fashion it like a Shakespearean sonnet. Just spit it out.

Right. Larry patronizes his audience. And yes Doctor, everything is presented in such dramatic fashion. It's sports conversation Larry. You don't need to tell me about how you've been pondering for weeks how to tell an audience that 'you like Grossman'.

For one you haven't been and two you treat us like we're idiots and that we can only get "I think the Sox will be bad" from your great mind.

Larry talks to sports fans like a kintergarden teacher talks to her students.

Baku, you must have saw where I posted about 15 mins ago in MJH thread about "Change the dial topics". I simply said "Rex Grossman talk in Mid-March. Thanks Laurence".

No I missed that spmack, but I agree.

I'm glad I'm hearing the interview because I did miss it last night, and Zach did a pretty good job.

Saying that, Holmes must be pretty comfortable in his position on the Score as a part time host/Bears reporter because I would not be replaying an entire interview that is taking the first 25 minutes of the hour. Holmes is going to have about 5 minutes after the 1:30 update to talk about the situation, and the rest of the show is commericals.

If it's me, I may play a small portion of the interview, and use the rest of my time telling listeners my take, and talking with callers.

Holmes comes back at 1:27 and says, "You heard the whole thing", and then said let's talk about it while adding that he believes Briggs will play for the Bears next season (I agree with him).

We're now in commercial until 1:30, have the update until about 1:33 or so, and then take about 5 minutes of calls/Holmes talk. Go to commerical at 1:38-1:39, and then come back for about 3 minutes, and then the show is done.

Prediction of how many calls he takes ? I'd say 3.

Some good conversation there....enjoyed that. Just wished we have more time for it after the interview.

I missed a minute, but I believe 2 calls were taken. Let's call it three in case I did miss one.

Replaying entire interviews just seems kinda lazy to me. I admit, it was on at night where perhaps not too many people heard it, but I agree BD, just play some snippets or just the salient points. I listened to it, it was OK, but I didn't think he was saying anything new or groundbreaking.

Larry has to dramatize the process of formulating an opinion because his opinions themselves are totally bland and unoriginal. His whole radio persona amounts to nothing more than an elaborate shell game. He's getting worse rather than better as a host and has been surpassed first by drinky, then by Paruch, and now Goff.

What was said in the interview?

Mainly Briggs just saying he won't be playing for the Bears without a long-term deal, and defending himself over not taking the $7.2 million next season. Zach did a good job, and it was a solid interview, not necessarily anything ground breaking, and, it appears completely orchestrated by Rosenhaus to get Briggs out there demanding a trade as he was on NFL Network and SportsCenter the next day.
