It seems like he announces this every year. So he's only doing 1 year deals. I don't get the purpose of him. Nights are 80% taken up by games at THE SCORE. Can't you just get dumb producers to fill in the other 20%? Or just rerun the best of what happened on the other shows for those half hours before Cubs games. |

Per his IG, he was thisclose to leaving. Whew, so many offers. Does he still do the morning 120show? "The last 2 weeks have been exhausting". I'm sure, as he's been travelling all over the US w/his wife. Cry me a river, pud. |

From IG: Quote: Like Dex, I was close to leaving, but I knew where I wanted to be...so I've agreed to a new deal to stay at The Score @670thescore for another year. There were a few really cool opportunities placed in front of me, but nothing is like what we do on a nightly basis. My connection with you played a big part in my decision.
This whole free agency process has been incredible and it's nice to know people respect my work. Im still going to dabble in TV, but I'm glad I didn't completely move away from radio. The last 2 weeks have been exhausting, but really happy to announce I'll be back in the air 6p March 1st. Thank you for your tremendous support of the show. It means the world to me. |

Lawrence played his cards beautifully by declining an offer to co-host middays with Spiegel and holding out for evening slot. Sir played hard to get and was lavishly rewarded. |

This is really pure Sir. He had many interesting offers (including television) but nothing could match continuing to be the host of an often preempted evening radio show. I'm sure Mitch took care of him on salary, but seriously, Les has more ears hear his voice over the course of a year than Sir. His show is off the air 3 nights per week from April-September for baseball. It is off 20-30 nights for De Paul and Illinois from October-February. It is off Monday and Thursday from September to January for NFL. Then there are the various Bears All Assholes, Cubs Weekly and Dave Leito shows... But hey, he really hits it out of the park in March! |
