Say what you want about Steve Rosenbloom (and I know you will), but I love the fact he has showed his displeasure with ESPN, with his PD, and corporate American in general on air by constantly making fun of the fact that "those" people wouldn't allow their show to hold a wing eating contest for Cubs tickets. Now, as unoriginal of an idea wing eating may be, it's just ridiculous that either the mothership or Justin Craig (honestly I think it's Craig here) wouldn't let these guys run contest because "legal" says that shouldn't be done. It's always something these days isn't it? God forbid any of us have a good time. Once again, its things like this that just add to the "Pussification" of Americans, and most likely the rest of the world. It's really unbelieveable how all of these stupid little rules have been created over the past fifteen years. I can't even fathom what shit awaits us fifteen years from now.

On a side note, I think I now will go down as the last person to win an eating contest in ESPN 1000's history. Of course that got me into a fantasy football league that I won and still haven't received anything four months later.

It probably has to do with the college chic that died from a water drinking contest- I guess a dead contestant would be a bad thing.

I heard the joke known as the Salisbury and Rosenbloom Show on Monday, complete with the hot chick contest. A very good RADIO bit btw.
ESPN Radio's legal counsel was justified in not having a wing eating contest as somebody could have done a Mama Cass and choked on a chicken bone. And I'm sure the California radio contest's water drinking death probably lead to ESPN's cautious nature, with what was probably some contestants that might have had a few drinks. Rosenbloom correctly indicted the overly litigious American society later during his pouting rant.
