Heard one today on the Clubhouse show on the Score.

"We got one segment left and we want to spend it taking your calls."

Give out the phone number and other contact info.

Then proceed to ramble on and never take any calls.

"We are out of time sorry we didn't get to your calls."

When Spiegel says that gut punch sounding MMMM.

Update anchors that provide incorrect information such as 3 playoff games on a day when there were in fact 4.

I guess that is possible. But I find it hard to believe that a show talking about baseball in Chicago during a time when people are really interested in hot stove stuff that there would be no one on hold.

I'm also in the camp where I think no one called in.

Perhaps on the flagship station the wrong kind of caller, called in?

Every host in their daytime lineup displays a pet peeve.

- Long-winded questions
- Inside jokes
- Fake sources
- Talk about the hosts feelings
- Laughing/slapping/snorting/farting
- Interrupting
- Name dropping (Larry)
- Homerism

The credibility that the afternoon show believes they have/gain from claiming to have unnamed sources.
Finding unfunny things funny (Goff / Holmes)
Laughing uncontrollably at unfunny things (Goff / Holmes)
SWJ hosts who all think exactly the same (in other words, they want to make these topics regular on their shows, but the station/hosts don't appear to be open to any opinions that don't match their own) and those who use a topic indirectly related to sports to use as a platform for then

I really only notice it with Bernstein and to a lesser degree Holmes, but the blatant teases to stay tuned after the commercial break because "when we come back, you're not gonna want to miss this..." Sometimes it feels they take more time setting it up than they would've spent just telling you what they were going to say. I know a certain amount of it comes with the territory, but they make it obvious. And of course, it's even worse when the story they've teased doesn't come in the following segment.

They made you listen through the commercials is all they care about.

The national ESPN shows are notorious for this kind of stuff. I think every Mike & Mike segment ended with a tease about what is coming after the break.

No way, you have people calling in at 3:00AM to talk about what kind of grass Wrigley had in 1967 compared to the grass today. I'm sure the Elmhurst Steve's of the world are lined up to tell us that K.Wood did not make it into the Hall Of fame this year.

when a show is basically just the host replaying all the shit that was said or interviewed earlier in the day because he thinks its reeeely important to go over again. and when not doing that, hes just talking to his producer and asking his opinion on shit no one should care about in the first place

or any other show Laurence holmes does.

When you have a guest on..ask him what he thinks about ( whatever)..don't go into a 2 minute preamble on yourthoughts and then proceed to ask him what he thinks.. Most guests aren't looking to disagree and will simply agree ..wven if they dont.
