Post subject:  Larry's Response

Posted on twitter a few hours ago; one of the board it - he says he didnt want the other shifts; my guess is that he's gone at the end of his contract

More
My crew & my night show on @670TheScore are my passion. My time slot allows me to explore other passions: teaching, studying, other broadcasting ventures. I wasn’t approached about a shift change nor did I seek one. I have a freedom that’s rare in broadcasting. It’s all good!

Lawrence Holmes, always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

Maybe if Larry says it enough he will actually believe it

walk with me through this...if you're always the bridesmaid, you're getting older, and you have a chance to play the role of bride to new prospective brides and bridesmaids, even though you never really were the bride....

wouldn't you?

No wonder the guy would rather teach.

He may very well believe it....he does have it good. I'm not his biggest fan, but he is very good for that time slot.

It's so often a thirty-minute shift, though

I can confirm Jimmy and Mitch didn't even consider Laurence to be an option because they know he values his freedom to pursue other passions.

If they could, they'd have put him in Afternoon drive.

He's evolved into a solid broadcaster.

Just like clockwork.

That certainly seems to be the case. There is no other reason someone would repeatedly make public statements like this.

Just like drinky with Ice Girl, Holmes cannot be caged. He needs to run free.

Agreed, Murph sucks too. Very annoying and uninteresting. Add Fred to that list as well.

I'm not ready to join the "LoHo's a cucked radio pissant who will leave his contract, blah blah" hatewagon yet. I would speculate that the guy knows the industry more than well enough by this point to have realized that in some regards it's better to have consistency and a lower ceiling than to ebb and flow around in the sporadic and nomadic radio world. He's a good fill-in host, and has more talent than he maybe gives himself credit for, but if the guy has other passions, who am I to judge his pursuit? More power to him.
