Jurko better be careful, she outweighs him here pretty good.

Fake News!

Looks like Jurko is being very civil with her and she’s just doing a very poor job explaining why sports radio isn’t better for women. Repeating the lie that almost half of all sports fans are women doesn’t help her cause.

The twitter bout spiked quickly and then shot back down...just like Julie's blood sugar.

Jurko is just making the point that women don't listen to sports radio. And it's true. The numbers back it up. Julie, in typical Julie fashion, is making it into something sexist.

That being said, Jurko needs to be careful. Doesn't matter that he's being civil and right. If Julie is on him that means Sarah will back her. And she works for ESPN on a national basis. And I'll bet Sarah thought Jurko was a sexist pig when she worked with him. Why? I don't know. Because Jurko looks like a sexist pig. Big ex jock that doesn't speak proper English. It's OK for women to prejudge when it comes to sexism.

However, if Julie and Jurko had a baby, that boy would be a better guard than that damn ND guy we've been hearing so much about. I've now come to hate that ND guard and hope he sucks in the NFL.

His nickname would be Julurko. The baddest ass to ever live!!!!!

He is a sexist pig. Doesn't mean he's wrong. Julie has hosting gig yet I'm willing to bet cant name 3 female athletes on any team without looking. Go ahead, gear your show towards that demo Julie. Discuss a lot of women sports. Surely all those marginalized female sports talk fans will be flocking to your show and ratings will spike. It'll be a bonanza for you.

Julie lambasted the men who don't want to hear from Jessica Mendoza or the other woman who did PBP for the second game of the MNF doubleheader, but she says it's a tragedy that more women don't listen to sports talk radio because the sports talk isn't coming from women.

How many women callers does Julie get when she hosts? I doubt very many. She's insane.

What the hell is up with Jurko, by the way. Has that sexist son of a bitch gotten a girlfriend from that dating site?

Her argument is false. Even if 50% of fans at games are women (and they aren’t), that doesn’t mean they are going to listen to sports radio. Most people at games, men or women are casual fans. Casual fans don’t listen to sports radio. By talking gender issues and banning guy talk you will lose 5 listeners for every one you gain. Ask Jason

Bernstein sidekicks last as long as Spinal Tap drummers. Dan was Terry's sidekick, which is why they lasted.

This whole thing was a bit right? She's not being serious? She has selective perception, she's a women (I guess), and she
works in Sports radio, therefore, she thinks all women like sports radio. She's ridiculous, I'm guessing less than 1% of the women
in Chicago, could name 1 or 2 of the Score originals, yet almost half could tell you the history Eric and Kathy, and tell you
details of they're lives.

every public stance she takes involves self interest. She is not taking out for any group she isn't a part of nor any issues that, if corrected, would not enrich her personally

My wife likes sports. She likes hockey more than I do. There is no chance she is listening to sports radio.

In the last 25 years or so I have only encountered a couple of women who ever mentioned listening to sports talk radio, and each time it was Mike & Mike.

Does anyone recall any sports show here doing anything remotely like this “Babe of the Day” segment she’s crying about ?

Oddly enough, my wife used to like "Who Ya Crappin?"...she'd only hear it because I left the Score on the last time I was in her car and was too lazy to change the station.

I also had to apologize for the 20 minutes of Mully and Hanley she had to endure.

i know a good handful of female hardcore sports fans. they don't watch sportscenter or listen to any sports talk radio unless their husbands are the ones who've initiated it.

Dying on the cross of women like sports at the same clip as dudes is just an awful unsubstantiated take.

I didn't go very often but I think the CBS website for The Score had galleries like that.

But, who cares? Women read Cosmo in huge numbers and those covers are just as bad as pictures of celebrities designed to be attractive posing.

Bernstein would also defend the presence of those galleries all the time when listeners would complain about all the attention paid to boobs on the website.

Remember specifically once Dan responding to an angry email on the subject with "the website numbers show people love it".

I've heard there is a special place in hell for women who attack other women. Unless those women are using their beauty for gain.

I have seen dozens of hardcore women sports fans intensely watching sporting events for years. I can only remember a handful at most interested in watching postgame shows, much less ESPN or sports radio. Almost to a person the request to turn on something else once the games end.

How about back in the day, when Mike North celebrated "Steak and BJ Day"? That was an instant classic, too bad Jules wasn't doing updates
for North that day, she would have had a stroke....

my dad believes that its just talk radio period regardless of topic. he thinks women would rather listen to music because if they are going to be listening to talking they'd rather it be them doing the talking.

my fathers views do NOT reflect those of my own.

I'm sure men listen to the Lite FM. Bending over backward for the men who listen to the Lite FM would probably get me fired, though.

Everything isn't for everyone and that's fine. Women can be diehard listeners to sports talk radio in the same sense that women can be libertarians: I mean, there's no rule against it, no one's stopping them, but it just doesn't seem to jibe with the way we understand the world to be, and the ones who belong to those groups in spite of all that are probably really weird and in desperate need of therapy. (Spaulding is okay.) I'm sure Julie DiCaro, The Underwhelming Sports Babe understands all that, because she doesn't really believe that there's this silent majority of lady Scoreheads who have been clamoring for a woman's voice to sing all the same praises of Theo Epstein than the men sing, she just personally likes sports and wants to have this job on the way to another, better job, because she likes to be in the journalist/thinkfluencer club online and requires all the same attention and constant praise as a 17-year-old applying to good colleges.
