Drive kicking ass by basically being what the Loop was 16 years ago, with WLS-FM doing almost well and Me-TV FM picking up a bit, too. Score dropped a tenth, which I'm sure the Saint Jason types will say is all Dan McNeil's fault, but they're almost tripling 1000 thanks to the Cubs. Feder has top tens for each daypart, with Mully and Hanley (RIP) finishing ninth in mornings, but the Score tied for third in evenings thanks to this technically accurate description:

Quote:
3. (tie) WBMX 104.3-FM Julian Jumpin’ Perez 4.4 (4.9); WLS 94.7-FM Tom O’Toole 4.4 (3.5); WSCR 670-AM Laurence Holmes; Julie DiCaro; Chicago Cubs baseball 4.4 (5.2)

Neither midday or afternoon drive in top 10 is sad.

Julie tied for 3rd in her time slot.

Cubs baseball probably dragged her down.

She can thank Score Is Doomed for all his posts about what she would be talking about.

You sure it wasn't Roe Conn talking about The Bachelorette?

Yet that time spot actually dropped 0.8.

WBBM. I don't get the purpose of that station or its listeners. Oh, I'd listen to traffic on the 8's for about, well, 8 seconds. Kudos to them for getting so many listeners with such minimal content.

You don't understand the purpose of an all-news station?

The content is horribly weak and repetitive. It's like watching CNN Headline news. After 30 minutes, there is nothing left to report.

Right, it's designed for low time spent listening but for a broad audience, the opposite of the Score or WFMT. Give us 22 minutes, we'll give you the world.

That might be it. I just never understood people who listen to it all day. It is literally 22 minutes on a loop. And there's no depth to it. It's the opposite of WBEZ.

Again, kudos to them for creating such strong ratings with a seemingly low investment. The free market wins!

I don't think it's a low investment. A news-gathering operation the size of WBBM probably costs more than any of the other stations in the cluster. They also bill really high.

Looks to me like the ratings dropped from June. Probably because Julie was on more in this time period.

Thanks for confirming she is part of those stellar ratings.
