Now that my ears stop bleeding, I can say without a doubt that Zach is awful. I go to pick my wife up at the train station at 6pm and I go out to get gas at 8:45 and he is still squeeling about the Cubs and Sammy Sosa. Zach has adopted the radio gimmick of "if you can say something good about someone, dont say anything at all".

If I ran a radio station, my #1 rule would be, reporters can come on to report, but under no circumstance do they get a show, because static at this point would be a improvement.

While I can understand that listening to Zach can be both frustrating and boring at times, I think this is largely due to his "devil's advocate" talkshow approach. He seemes to plan what his "stance" will be for a particular issue prior to going on the air and tries to stick to it regardless of what his callers say.

I must admit, however, that I have called in and caught him in a few contradictions every so often.

I , for one, am very interested about whether the blood on Schilling's sock is real or paint.

SOCK? Blood on Schilling's Sock? Uh-oh, I thought I heard something else, I better tell Larry Holmes not to talk about Schillings Schlong tomorrow.

I caught the Sosa stuff. I almost drove off the road in my effort to find something to stick in my ears.

Zach is approaching North status as completely unlistenable in my book. Not only does his voice make me want to stick forceps in my ears, but the disparity between his work as a beat reporter (where I think he does a decent job) and his work as a host is just ridiculous.

He is the only host who has ever made me mad enough to call in and tell him off...and I didn't even get my damn chance to do it...just got to tell the call screener.

Heard Zak with B&B doing the Bear report, and he gave us his Tony G from Sundays Hall of Fame speech. Real bad.

I agree. You guys know how much I don't like Larry but I think Zac is worse than Larry.

Zac always sounds mad, angry and miserable no matter what the question or topic that is posed to him.

Random person - Hey Zac look at the cute baby.

Zac - What do you mean look at the baby? Why should I? Don't tell me the baby is cute. I'll determine that on my own. That is if I decided to look at the baby. I'm Zac Zaidman.

While you may be right, I predict that Zach will make it to ESPN one day. There to be teamed up with a retired player who assumes the Neanderthal persona. And from there, they'll discuss steroids and A-Rod and Giambi.

Predicting as if I mean it (lol)...

Anyone hear his Tony Gwynn "impression" on the B&B Bears report today? Worse than Lou.

Author:  Beardown [ Mon Jul 30, 2007 8:56 pm ]
Post subject:

No. I didn't hear it. But it's funny. I do a good Tony Gwynn. I started imitating him when I was a kid. I did it for my dad and and brother. They thought I was good. I won't do it for anybody but family. Zac should have that rule for his imitations too. I'm sure he was bad.

Leave the Tony Gwynn impersonation to Hood.

Gwynn is actually very easy to imitate. His voice inflection is easy do. Then you just have to get down what he says and the words he uses.

Gwynn - It's been Great. Everybody has been great. The staff at the hall of fame have been great. And dum... I'm just honored to be in the class of other hall of famers. Cal's great. My wife is great. The Padres are great. The fans are great. And dum...I'm just happy. Words can't explain it.

Anything approaching North stauts is station flipper for sure.

I find it discouraging that Bernstein gives the Cheeto Headed Loon positive reinforcement for his bad impersonations by guffawing uproariously at them, because Bernsie's impersonations are actually legitimately good (Coach K., Bruce Weber, Vin Scully, etc), so he should know what a good one should sound like.

Zaidman sucks. I can see his big fat nose and his sweaty, greasy, zit-laden red face THROUGH THE RADIO.

He is everything that is wrong with sports and radio/tv personalities today.

But how do you really feel about him?
