so wait. somebody here recently said that Joniak is a budget hire. Really? He's been doin' it forever and he's well known, how is he a budget hire? Are u saying theyre payin' him peanuts? If he was a budget hire, don't u think he woulda bolted a long time ago? Explain to me how he is a bdget hire. Also, post a pic of his face if he were told to his face that he was a budget hire. |

At any rate, he has been there so long he is now the voice of the Bears and that is all there is to say about that. |

I forgot about how much shit Gary Bender was in the Bears' booth. He didn't live in Chicago, just flew in for the games, and could have been replaced by the computerized voice from the old xtranormal videos. |

Gary Dolphin, the Iowa announcer, was up for the job but didn't want to give up the Iowa football/basketball gig. He was also a finalist with Bender and the Bears picked Bender. He was suspended 2 games in November for critical comments he made that ended up airing during a commercial break. He's a good PBP man and has a good voice. |

Joniak and Thayer are a good listen. They deliver what information I need, add some knowledge, and don’t piss me off. Thayer is fun on the color. Bad PBP guys stick out. Joniak might not be the best, but he is far from the worst. |
