I was at my old high school for the annual student art show last night. One of the pencil or charcoal drawings was titled "Mike Murphy." I did a double take when I saw this. The guy had a mustache and Murph like hair... but the face didn't look like him.

I am for real... I'm not making this up.

Why would Mike Murphy make an appearance at a high school? Was he hosting an assembly or something? If so, how many RentalMax plugs did he fit in?

Second Murph observation. Was in the city today and had dinner at Pizano's (864 N. State St.)... as I walk in I see Murph's picture off the Score website and his autograph below.

Post subject:  Stoney & Murph

Did anyone hear the contentious exchange between Murph & Stoney today with regards to Zumaya's finger injury.
Stoney: "He was warming up in the bullpen and heard a pop & couldn't grip the baseball"
Murph: "Well did you hear the pop?!! "
Stoney: "No"
Murphy: "That's my point!"
Stoney: "What is your point?'

Murph is such a jagoff. He is so rude - constantly interrupting, talking over, and cutting off his guests. They've got to lose this A-hole.

As much as I agree with you, they wont get rid of him, because he has the ratings. I dont get it, but he has fans.

I don't know why Murph even has guests since he never let's them make their point. Last week he had Dan Plesac on and the both of them talked over each other for ten minutes. Stone yak yak yaks and Murph yak yak yaks and neither of them are listening to each other.

How right you are. They have a small following of morons, hopefully, the same morons. I'd hate to think there are that many morons out there.

3 minutes? Isn't that a bit excessive? It reminds me of the scene in Borat where the joke coach is teaching him the "not" jokes, and he waits until the guy gets 10 seconds into his next thought before saying "NYAT!"

I listened a little to Murphy on Thursday or Friday... I forget which day but he got some award from his hometown. The Mayor said something to the effect this is "Mike Murphy day". The thing I found a little weird is Murph's exchange between the Mayor of the city who was praising Murphy. He was cold, did not care what the mayor said just did his promotions on that “tool” shop, and went on about what the cubs are doing... I have heard him talk to callers and guests and it is like a one-way conversation... It is as if he has some agenda or notes and he just goes on with it without connecting with the caller or guest at all. No spontaneous friendly exchanges... more like calculated choppy back and forth banter.

I heard the show on the podcast and it seemed like Stoney was a bit annoyed with Murph today. Maybe it's one of those cases where those 2 guys need a break from each other.

For the record, I still enjoy Murph's show. IT's the best show on the score. The show talks sports, no other b.s.
