What was wrong with Garcia? I only listened for about 10 minutes driving home. He wasn't bad.

Nothing to make your Memorial Day hangover even worse than to get in the car for the drive back from Kenosha and have Andy Garcia on your radio. I wanted to drive into an overpass on 94

He's okay. Doesn't really have the voice to end up having any major show or anything like that, but I don't mind it for late night, hell, if it gets me local overnights, I'll take it

I heard him last night, not as awful as some have said, but has a little Jesse Rogers in him.

I noticed that he just goes through callers really fast, and rather surprising considering that he was on so late on a Friday night.

Fun time listening to Drinky attempt to get Andy to explain how his "Throwing at the other team in retaliation helps you win but doesn't make you lose" theory and him failing miserably each time. Drinky had a lot of Bernsie vitrol in him tonight...and it had Garcia flustered the whole show.

Yeah, Garcia didn't do a good job of explaining his position, but Abbatacola wasn't convincing either. Drinky's position was that retaliation (by hitting an opposing batter) is always bad because it puts a runner on base. All Garcia needed to do in countering drinky was point out that hitting a batter is tactically stupid in an immediate sense, but may have long-term benefits in helping to promote a sense of togetherness and forging a team identity. While there may be no available statistics to support such a view, players often say that when teammates "stick up for them" it makes them feel closer to their fellow players and play more of a "team" game.

I think Garcia was trying to make some of these points, but drinky kept on interrupting him, like he was trying to bully him or something. Overall, drinky's performance was unprofessional while Garcia was simply easily flustered. Left to his own devices, Garcia is improving and may prove to be a decent host.

Sometimes Drinky tries to do Bernsie while shooting down arguments. Bernsie has more logic most of the time.

Drinky even uses Bernsie language like "how does that help you win a World Series?" and "How does that make you better at baseball."

Drinky has a tough time expressing himself.

Yeah, he sounds like he hasn't hit puberty yet, but he's not an idiot. To my mind, drinky's bullying tactics made him seem stupid yesterday.

I didn't hear it yesterday. But he's done that in the past. He's learned from Bernsie but can't do it like Bernsie.

Man how is nobody commenting on the absolutely wonderful show of Andy Garcia and Jesse Rogers that Mitch has graced us with tonight?

His fill-in call-up hosting was bad. To his credit, NIU and Chicago Marathon , bland informercials , were smoother and somewhat tolerable.
