Gone are the days when drive time shows did Super Bowl shows and had entertaining guests. Almost felt bad for poor Larry while he struggled to fill his hour on radio row, forced to bring on an MMA participant with "nice shoulders" because he apparently couldn't get anyone else. The odd continuous hyping of his podcasts, "got some great guests for my podcasts and can't wait for you to hear it", comes across as hollow because wouldn't you and the station want you to present your best content on a platform that reaches the largest audience? A few minutes of his live leads me to quickly begin scrolling through podcast options.

Did he pay his own way down there? I find it odd that the station would choose to send a guy with a 2 hour shift.

Those Super Bowl shows were mostly bad. It was interviews with guys pushing some product.

It sounded like NBC sports chicago paid most of the freight.

They were gonna send July, but the station didn't want to pay for two airplane seats.

They are. Especially the national shows. Generally I think interviews with pro athletes are bad radio and this week it's just one after the next.

THIS.

This particular Super Bowl is a rarity for me....I'm actually intrigued by the game / matchup. It's the first super bowl i've looked forward to watching in quite some time. That being said, I have no interest in hearing player interviews or any of the nonsense leading up to it.

Yep, nobody wants to hear some boring interview with someone like Nick Bosa hawking some sham product called something like eugenix.

I think most athlete interviews at SB week have devolved into paid ads. There was a decent Rod Woodson interview this week and of course at the end came the commercial stuff. It is just silly.

So he was in Miami all week and didn't do the radio show on the Friday before the Super Bowl? Bizarre.

"Eugenix" is right on the money, good lord.
