Fred is a solid Berwyn guy. His parents probably had ten bank accounts on Cermak back in the day. He gets the ex-SportsPhone ethos in the same way that Shuster and Shorty George and Gleason (and Memolo in NYC) did, but he's better with guests and callers. |

I really despised Fred's work during his two morning show iterations. He was always billed as an equal but played the role of subservient yes man. I get it. He had moved his way up humping it through the fringes of sports coverage for 20 years and finally had a piece of a day part show. He ended up having decent staying power in the mornings at the Score. I think he was on for almost a decade. I just didn't respect his work as the Sox guy in the Cubs-Sox show or the not raging right wing racist on whatever North's show was supposed to be. I've grown to appreciate Fred. |
