I listened to Matt and Double-Z this morning. What a breath of fresh air compared to the Baum Windbag Fest. A very solid move by Mitch in giving these guys (and Laurence/Whip) a canvas to spew their art. |

Wish they were on a different time, as I am never awake at that hour. From what I have heard, though, it is not bad, although I still would rather they pair Matt with Paruch, just because I do not care for Zach or Laurence as hosts. |

Is there any chance they are auditioning this group to replace North on weekdays ? |

We know how they "play" auditions... |

I like Matt, but I don't care for Zach when he tells Cubs fans hwo to feel, or Sox fans how to feel. It's kind of presumptuous for a guy from New York. Yes, yes, I know "WE NEED LOCAL GUYZ" makes me a meatball, but still. |

Larry and Zac grate on me. Seems like I'm not alone. I'll say this much for Drinky, he's not as annoying as those two. Not a ringing endorsement but I'm sure Drinky will take it as a compliment. LOL. |

Individually, I don't think any of them are this outstanding host, especially Holmes, who I think is pretty bad. Put them together, and I think it works. |

Put them together, and I think it works. It's odd, because I consider the Saturday morning bunch to just be more of the same. Same "crap" that follows B&B, if there's no baseball or hockey. Towards that end, I'm sad that Baum is gone. Also sad, because, what ESPN puts on Sat morning is worse than 'drinky & the reporters' show. Canellis's show with Telander, a home improvement guy, and a land developer/shark is an incredibly bad listen. Lou and Telander do all the talking, the home improvement guy says nothing, and the shark runs ads saying we should invest in his hotel schemes in FL, because y'know, you win at Monopoly if you have the hotels... Leaving me to suicidal thoughts, but dammit, there's no point jumping out the window when you're only on the second floor! Dammit! Actually, someone called yesterday saying his sump pump made "noises". Home Improvement guy said to replace the pump. Man, you can't go just anywhere for good info like that... |

Don't get me wrong, I think that show would be better if they didn't force topics (why name a segment where callers call in with various sports questions?), and I don't like how they try to tell fans what they should be thinking. |

I dont have the same hate for Zach, but the show was much smoother yesterday without Larry. He's just brutal and the three man booth never works. |

That's true of basically everyone in the biz -- directing your thoughts. Prominent is B&B along those lines, who decided that "momentum" is meaningless in a basketball series, and started to pound everyone with dissenting thoughts. Me? If I were on a team that received a beatdown, for tomorrow's game with that same team, I'd certainly would be having thoughts as to how they defeated us, and how inevitable it is that they'll do so again. To me, it's a sameness of approach - if you know B&Bs approach to a show, you have reason to believe that Drinky's going to follow it as their producer. As for Zack and Larry, they'll find things to cling onto, vis-a-vis successful shows, and mimick them. As someone who lived overseas as a kid, I'm used to armed forces radio: one hour of country, one hour of funk, three hours of top-50 pop, etc. You don't like this music, wait a short while, and here's something else! And the same is true of the presenters: different styles (although several of the DJs were staff sergeants.) |

Zaidman has too much Woody Allen in his voice, just more nasally, and comes off condescending and annoying. Holmes...enough has been said about him. Drinky I can enjoy and I wouldn't mind a show with him and Paruch. |

Just listened this morning and man was it painful. It felt like 4 hours of "Can we trust Tank Johnson?" |

A very solid move by Mitch in giving these guys (and Laurence/Whip) a canvas to spew their art. No. They suck. Zaidman must be earning credit for his degree in Asshole-ed-ness. The other 2 have stolen Boers' act. Saturday am sports radio is at an all-time low. You Ok Grid, et. al.? |

Outside of football, I don't really respect Zach or Holmes opinion, and it's worse because they are over the top in trying to be arrogant and smart while talking down to their small listening audience. Perhaps they should actually have some clue about baseball before they force their wisdom on us. |

I think he does a good job of doing the daily Bears report. I don't think he has any inside information or anything like that, but as a strictly providing updates, I'm fine with him. |

I know I would rather tune into Chet and "BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE". That's a pretty painful listen. Chet slobbering over himself, guests and Levine. Levine repeating every other minute "as a journalist". I know I'm not the only one that feels this way, because I've seen comments like this on other strings. I'll stick with the trio. I love the back-and-forth bickering that goes on, the confrontations and the smart-ass commentary. |

You understand, you're all responsible for this new Drinky, Zack and Holmes promo -- "Score Hosts of the Future!" Gaak! "They can show up in-between Sox games, or filling in score hosts..." (and I'm thinking of 60s "Barbie" ads -- you can bend 'em, pose 'em, brush their hair, and change their outfits --yeesh) |

Hasn't Holmes been a "Score host of the future" for a while now? Like, ten years? Someone compared this to Mac/Jurko/Harry, which I guess was also a Mitch Rosen idea. The difference is that those three seem to be larger-than-life personalities, and the conflict isn't forced. Zach Zaidman isn't larger than life. |

From what I gather, he's moved from production to sales to reporting to this part-time host thing. |
