Not sure just how much the Cubs factor in though.

Sir loses audience when he arrives and it returns after he leaves.

People like Bernstein and Leia.

People don't like Kap, Carm, or really anyone other than Greenberg.

There was one brighter note for the station during the midday hours. From Noon to 2p, Mike Greenberg’s national show ‘Greeny’ ranked 6th with a 4.3 share, just five tenths of a point behind The Score. Greeny’s show was ESPN 1000’s top rated program for the quarter.

Who the fuck is listening to Greeny?

Good Lord, AM1000's ratings are pitiful.

I don't find the shows on either station to be especially enjoyable and the amount of time I listen reflects that, but I don't think the difference in quality between the two is as significant as the ratings indicate. I thought 670's ratings would have been a little lower and AM1000's a little higher.

With Sirius XM in my car, I haven't listened to anything on AM other than traffic reports or a Sox game in MANY months.

This is the one thing in the whole article that really sticks out.

I've always liked Greeny and would listen if he was only doing local Chicago sports. If he ever got away from ESPN and could talk freely, I think he'd be a very enjoyable listen.

ESPN is getting killed in the NYC market as well. They are just marking time at this point until they can just convert their audio to 100% podcasts and rebroadcasting TV.

Kap comes across like a $3 dollar bill.

Carm is too damn vanilla.

Here are the overall rankings..WSCR came in 17 overall in the Chicago market. Behind a bunch of Oldies, Spanish, Country and Gospel stations. Chicago Sports Radio is certainly jumping these days...

Good ratings doesn't speak too highly of the Score's (non Cubs) current 25-54 listening audience. This sports message board can't agree on almost anything. But an overwhelming consensus here is the current Score hosts are unlistable.

I listen to Kap and Hood, but find pretty much everything else on ESPN outside of Mike North's gambling thing to be boring. I occasionally like Holmes and don't have time to listen to Parkins anymore. Everything else on The Score is worthless.

As has been repeated ad nauseum, overall ratings are not really relevant to sports radio. Unfortunately that's generally all that's available now that Feder has to pay his own bills so we keep having these "imminent demise" discussions. Their revenue comes from men 25-54, plain and simple. The Score is doing well there. When that drops to 17 then they're in trouble.

I have maybe at most listened to WSCR for maybe 5 -10 minutes this entire 2021 year.

Used to be a big listener. I am obviously not the norm. Congrats to them, they have a business model that works. More power to them. Thanks for posting

I was a Hood guy, he is so much better solo. Maybe it's contagious from Kaplan being such a windage douche but Hood acts much differently on this show and it's bad. That said, ESPN is much better than any shitshow on the 670.

Would like to see the streaming results. The only way I access WSCR or WMVP content is by streaming/podcasts, and that is limited to NFL segments on WMVP.

Used to have WSCR on in the car and in the background all the time, but have given up on the station until Bears pre/post returns.

Wonder if that's why Kap and Hood were off that one day to attend a "team building" exercise with their boss. Honestly, it shocks me that people aren't giving 1000 a shot. 670 is just so boring, besides the "expert" interviews, but you can get the podcast for those without having to listen to the stupid hot takes.

Would like to see which content is actually being chosen for podcasts. Did recently watch a YouTube thing where a guy explained how easy it is to buy false follows/views which then allow companies/individuals to claim popularity. Read where several have been caught creating false followers in an effort to make them seem more relevant. However, it still would be interesting to see what people actually want to listen to when they have a choice.

I’ve given ESPN a shot but they are incredibly boring and vanilla. I’ve got a dozen podcasts I’ll listen to before ESPN. And my listening to Parkins and Spiegel has waned this summer primarily because I don’t care for the Sox or baseball that much at all any more.

If I listen it is ESPN 1000 now, but it is bland. I am just doing Apple music and Spotify podcasts for my drives up north. The History of Rome podcast is amazing for those that love history.

They gotta fire Kap and let hood go solo.
