Good article.

The only thing that bothers me about this is that the Lakers want Deng to be part of any trade that is made. Just makes me a little uneasy....

I don't know if Mariotti understands that it would gut the Bulls team to probably get him. Let's start with Gordon and Deng, and then maybe Thomas, plus you have to make the $$$ work.

I don't think the Lakers are giving him away IF they do decide to move him, which I still don't think will happen.

If Kobe's driving ambition in life was to be a bull then he should have signed a contract with them when he was a free agent. Boo hoo for Kobe Bryant. He is so shocked that the Lakers supporting cast wasn't any good after Shaq left. If he didn't see that coming, he's a worse talent evaluator than MJ is.

It seems to me that the baggage that Kobe brings is going to become a problem for any team.

What the hell are you guys talking about? The average age of Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Tyrus, Thabo & Noah is 23. So tell me again, A) how can anyone say with any level of certainty that “the Bulls will not win a championship” with this group? And B) why exactly are we in this tremendous hurry?

Also, the Bulls had no way of acquiring Randolph last night, unless you wanted to send Kirk, Ben, Luol, or Tyrus, all 4 of whom are more valuable than Channing Frye. The only way to get Randolph (without overpaying), financially speaking, would be via a S&T, which could not have been put together until mid-July.

We’re not even 24 fucking hours into the offseason, kids. Give it some time.

Hinrich is more valuable than Randolph? Are you John Paxson?

I said Hinrich had more value than Frye.

Who says they will?

I'm not claiming a title is guaranteed by sticking with this group; I'm simply suggesting that it's nonsense to say that, without a doubt, they can't/won't, especially by people that know dick about the NBA (ie: Morrissey, Mariotti, etc).

Quote:
How long are you willing to wait?

At least until they enter their respective primes, which is 2-3 years away.

Quote:
Will Paxson hold onto guys too long and their value drops?

Barring injury, and excluding Noah since he's yet to play an NBA game, these guys are years away from their values decreasing.

Isn't Tyrus floor just as low as his ceiling?

Have you not seen enough from Tyrus to realize he won't be a bust? Realizing his full potential is another issue, but I think it's safe to say the kid can play.

Are you John Paxson?

No, I'm his coat-tail riding brother.
