Murph was angered with these comments from Ozzie Guillen.
''I get an e-mail every two minutes saying, 'Bring that guy, bring that guy.' But that's why you work in the factory and you're not the general manager, because that's not easy. People think they're watching TV and look at the minor-league system and look at trades and they think bring that guy. It doesn't work that way. It's a process about everything.''
Murphy believed that Ozzie was taking a shot at the working man. Murph also thought the comments were bordering on those foul-mouthed words from the Elia rant.
Is Murph correct or this another White Sox dig by the Bleacher Bum?

Murphy's a moron. I'd guess Ozzie is taking a shot at the goofs on sports radio and the fantasy guys who try to make up trades.
I'm not a big fan of Ozzie, but in this case, he's absolutely right. Murph is garbage and his bullshit is old, thoughtless and usually stupid. He's a shitty human being and a totally unimportant pieces of feces in the sports world.

I won't go that far and refer to Murph has a poor human being.
He just lets his Cub Chub get in the way on several issues.

It's just another poorly thought out knee-jerk reaction. (s)Murf saw/heard the words ''But that's why you work in the factory" and, predictably, had to rise to the defense of the "common man" even though I don't believe that any slight was intended.

Would (s)Murfs sense of outrage been as great if this had been the analogy?

''I get an e-mail every two minutes saying, 'Bring that guy, bring that guy.' But that's why you work on the air and you're not the station manager, because that's not easy. People think they're watching TV and look at the minor-league system and look at trades and they think bring that guy. It doesn't work that way. It's a process about everything.''

We've reached common ground: Our hatred for Murph.

Maybe Kenny and Ozzie will continue to fail at their jobs and end up working at a factory.

I once read Murph worked for Reed Industries for over 25 years and retired a few years ago. I don't know what Reed Industries does, but it sounds like what may be considered factory work.
Murph has thin skin. We are all aware of that. I don't know in what capacity Murph was employed, but he may have taken it as a direct shot at him. Paranoia can be a strange companion.

Yeah, but "that's why u work in the factory?" sounds pretty shitty to me. i mean, granted, it's NOT Lee Elia material...but pretty shitty nonetheless

I don't work in a factory, and I didn't really care what Guillen said.

Well, I did work in a factory for a number of years, and Ozzie's comment didn't phase me at all, nor would it if he said "That's why you carry mail" (as I'm a mailman.)

Ozzie's comment could be viewed as an insult, but only if you go looking for it to be insulting.

There's this common belief we've all got that what we personally do is work, what the other guy does isn't. That's all Ozzie was saying. If you don't know baseball, you wouldn't be a good manager. Ozzie certainly didn't say, "I know I can do your job, you can't do mine."

Which would be insulting, obviously.
