Did anyone else notice that Sunday's sports section missed one important story? I went over my sports section several times and did not see one story about Applachian State's upset win over Michigan. There was plenty of game stories and sidebars for ND, Illinois, Northwestern and NIU. However, to not have a story on the biggest upset in college football history is inexcusable.

Sarcasm is difficult to detect on the Internet, Chip, but I suspect you're being serious. Is your neighbor a U of M fan? I'd double check that you weren't missing any pages. It was the first story I read Sunday morning.

You don't really think they would not cover a Michigan game (much less this game do you?). Shit, the Trib will often run stories about what Purdue and Iowa did on Saturday.

They also have lately run a lot of stories the past few years about what Purdue and Iowa have done between Dec 28th and New Years Day.

I thought about posting the same thing Sunday. They mentioned it on the first page, but when I looked to find the story it wasn't there.

Maybe some of the regional editions got screwed up. Mine was fine.

NSJ,

No sarcasm here. I went to SIU and no of no one who went to Michigan. I went back through the section and no pages were missing. The only thing missing was a story on the game. The links you posted above are for internet and not in the paper. The Teddy Greenstein article did appear in the paper, but it's not a game story like all the others. I wanted to read comments from players and coaches the following day. Since we didn't get to see the game except for highlights, I was hoping to read more about it in the paper that I pay for. I think they did drop the ball.

Why should they write detailed stories about Big 10 games when they can have 3 stories about ND, including a feature on QB D. Jones? I suggest you get Direct TV. The Big 10 Network is the perfect anecdote to the Chicago/South Bend Tribune.
