Post subject:  Interesting Note from Phil Rogers

5. Brewers manager Ned Yost is taking a huge risk by starting the often-injured Ben Sheets on three days' rest Tuesday night, albeit after he threw only 50 pitches in a loss to Cincinnati last Friday. It seems like an unnecessary risk, as Sheets is only going to make three more regular-season starts whether he starts Tuesday or Wednesday, which would have been his regular day. Yost could get Sheets an extra start by using him on three days' rest in four consecutive starts, but that seems crazy. By moving in front of David Bush in the rotation, the only thing that seems to be gained is that Sheets would be set up to start Game 1 of a playoff series on full rest. I don't get it, as the old rotation set up to have September ace Yovani Gallardo in Game 1 and Sheets in Game 2. Besides, the big thing for either the Brewers or the Cubs is to get to the playoffs, not to set up their playoff rotation. Score this one, advantage Cubs (although it is offset by Lou Piniella's equally curious decision to use Carlos Zambrano on three days' rest Tuesday).

**

Ben Sheets leaves the game early with hamstring tightness, but Zambrano pitches poorly for the Cubbies.
