Last night Jesse Rogers actually made the comment that they should have the conf title games moved to an indoor stadium or dome because of the weather being 2 cold. I'm sure the Packers and Patriots would readily agree to that because who needs home field advantage anyway? Then he also said he wants the season moved up a couple of weeks to avoid the cold in the playoffs. When 1 listener brought up warm weather teams (Miami, Jax, TB, etc..) playing in the middle of August when it's 95, Jesse said have them start on the road for the 1st few games. I'm sure those teams would love having to play their 1st 2 or 3 games every year on the road. Those were maybe the dumbest statements i have ever heard on the score. Jesse is bad....bad and dumb! Stick to Hockey and please do not let him host a show ever again!

That's a great example of somebody trying to come up with a great topic of discussion without realizing how full of holes it actually is.

Users the phrases 'Jesse Rogers' and 'dumb comment' in the same title is redundant.

I feel cheated when I tune in to Jesse and he doesn't stay something ridiculous.
He makes me laugh.

Did anyone ever get around to posting the Jesse sayings that Dan + Terry used to drop?
"If a tree falls in the forest . . "
"The cookie cracks . . "
etc

And such is part of the unintended brilliance of Jesse. He brings up ideas that fans discuss without regard of what others may think.

So Fung, no one plays real NFL games in the middle of August. They start in the second Sunday of September. It is not at all new to the NFL for teams to have played their first two games in a season away from home.

The Vikings did rid themselves of a great home field advantage when they went to a Dome. I believe that they thought playing indoors would be better than playing in the cold. A mistake to me, but it more than supports his premise.

1) No NFL team is going to want to play it's 1st 2-3 games on the road every year! Those teams would scream bloody murder! It's not fair to those teams to make them start on the road every year.
2) The NFL if anything is looking at moving the schedule back to start at the end of SEPT not the middle of August
3) Unintended brilliance? Huh? Playing the conf title games on a neutrel site.....you already have 6 teams in each conf making the playoffs (soon to be 7) so now let's devalue the reg season even more by having no difference between finishing 1st or 2nd in your conf.....yeah that's a great idea!
4) Stick to hockey
5) Everyone who listened to any part of that is now dumber for it!

George was constantly on Jesse for that comment.
Hey Jesse, remember the 1981 AFC championship game -- in Cincy. Extremely-bitter weather takes place in a lot of locales. The Bengals, a cold-weather team  -- did fine under those conditions. San Diego didn't win the game, but the Chargers did make some plays.
Jesse even brought up the Super Bowl to support his claims.
The main reason for the supposed neutral site is mainly logistical. It takes more than two weeks to plan for this gala. Several things need to be set in motion before the two-week buffer.
Funny thing about the neutral site and the Super Bowl. It's almost a misnomer. No team has ever ended up playing on their home field for the game. Thirty-one games have been held at venues for NFL teams. The neutral site plan has taken place, but it's survived with some luck.
Super Bowl V was at The Orange Bowl, and the Dolphins played in Super Bowl VI.
