Did anyone notice yesterday's back page cover of the Sun-Times? Who the f### do they think they are, getting on their soapbox, waving a finger at Barry Bonds for cheating, when all they are is a trashy tabloid that on a daily basis crosses the line ethically, no matter what subject they are covering.
Guess what a##holes, Barry Bonds is the home run champ, whether you like it or not. Mariotti needs to do some actual reporting of his own before he starts telling anyone else how to do their damn job. Maybe he would have uncovered this steroid/performance enhancer problem years ago and had been able to brought it out to light.
Mariotti isn't a reporter, he's a columnist.
All being a columnist means is that he doesn't have to be objective. A good columnist, at least what I was taught in college, still does reporting, meaning going out to do interviews and in the case of sports journalist watching games. They still go out and get facts on their own to strengthen their arguments, they (in the case of sports reporters) go and at least occasionally see the teams they write about and talk to them. Mariotti doesn't do that, at least when it comes to the Sox.
