So what you’re saying caller is that Murph is not very good at hosting a radio show, that he is bad, as in not very good.

Murph has the face for radio and a voice that would rival waterboarding as a form of torture. At least with waterboarding you can pretend that you’re water skiing or going down with the Titanic after you nailed that rich slut.

Hi, I'm the thread police and I declare this thread a waste of message board space.

Welcome to the board, Jake3523.

I agree with your assessment of the situation.

Im going to catch flack but its too bad.

I like Murph quite a bit. It sucks that his show is so short as its nowhere near the same. When he and Fred were on in the mornings, it turned me on to sports radio because I really enjoyed the baseball discussion. When I called into Murphs show, I felt welcomed, kind of like I felt calling MJH. He is no worse then many of the other hosts out there. Sometimes he agrees with listeners on really dumb things, like hosting a super bowl in chicago. But when it comes to baseball, hes usually spot on.

That all being said, he has his annoyances. The clapping during the jack phalen spots make me want to choke him through the radio. Sometimes he comes in moody and throughout the show he hangs up on people and acts like a general asshole. Finally, during interviews and calls he sounds like he is not listening, saying uh huh during odd moments. But, you take the good with the bad right?

I don't think he's as bad as some make him out to be, but I don't listen to him much outside of baseball season because he's completely clueless on football and basketball.

He tends to look too much for angles in baseball, but I enjoy that his show is nothing but sports talk, and that's sometimes difficult for the hosts to concentrate on.

it is painful to hear him talk nba or other sports sometimes, but during baseball season, i listen every day. i love baseball, and i love that his whole show is almost guaranteed baseball talk from march through november. i dont agree with him about a whole lot, but he keeps it coming, and he does bring up some pretty unusual angles on things that you dont hear in a lot of other places. what i really like about his show is that he doesnt waste time talking about non-sports related stuff too much, he just keeps the sports talk coming. i couldn't care less how big of a prick he is to his producers or colleagues. most of us probably work with pricks, but can still get along with them.

I grow tired of the point that he needs to be on the station because no one else will talk about the Cubs.
He isn't the lone Cubs fan on the Score staff (Drinky makes his Wrigley-Field love known).
Murph's just the most-subjective Cubs voice on the Score. I also don't care for most of his takes on the White Sox. He seems to be very willing to offer his negative opinions about the cross-town rival.
I just don't care to hear "What's wrong with the White Sox" from a diehard Cubs fan.

Better than visualizing the episode where Natalie and Ms. Garrett do each other with a rolling pin.

Murph is ok & an annoying bastard all at the same time. He is a one-trick-pony...but his one trick is baseball (with a Cubs emphasis) and that works for me. He is basically an oasis of Cubs news on a weighted Sox station.

Please name all of the huge Sox fans on The Score. I can think of one huge Cubs fan that works on the station.
Outside of the one or two-hour White Sox show on Saturday mornings in the offseason, please let me know of another vehicle on that station which continues to pump South Side love on the airwaves.
Both baseball teams receive a lot of on-air attention.
The Score is nowhere near the subjective vehicle compared to WGN.

TB, yeah, other then Hubner, I think there is a fair amount of cubs and sox praise/bashing from most of the score hosts. B&B praised Lou and the cubs quite a bit last year. I think in the end, if the Cubs could actually be a good team consistently, the hosts would enjoy talking about them more, rather then taking call after call about how pissed a caller is at the cubs or analyzing how bad they are.

B and B are equal-opportunity bashers, but i cant ever remember anything but ridicule going lou's way when it came to the cubs...

MOFO, do you remember their position on Lou's decision in Game 1 of the NLDS?
They bashed Dusty on a much more frequent basis, deservedly so. As for Lou, they poked fun at his malaprops.

First of all, Rongey is a Cardinals fan.
Then you missed some Cubs fans: George, Jesse, two Brians (Paruch and Handley) and ZZ.
There are more Cubs fans at the Score.
