This was my first time hearing him on the radio (as I'd never listened to his WGN pre & post games) as he stopped by during his & Holmes show. Hampton unquestionably has a great fund of knowledge when it comes to football, and he did offer some good insights from a player perspective today. That being said, the show was peppered with "uhs," "ums," stuttering, coming to a dead halt mid sentence while he tried to remember someone's name, etc. He just seemed extremely hesitant. It was the kind of thing where you want to just reach through the radio and yell, "For the love of God, spit it out!" Also, I don't really like the sound of his voice on the radio. Another question: what will happen when football season's over? Does Hampton have enough acumen in other sports to be able to speak with some authority on baseball or basketball? I don't know the answer, but I guess we'll find out. Anyone agree or disagree with my opinions on Hampton? Hopefully, this is just a case of the jitters with his own show, but he has done radio in the past, so you would think he would have been over those. I just don't think the Hampton and Holmes show is going to be that good.
