It's late at night & this isn't posted yet?! Where's KS or the Phantom? DIALING: * * Chris Collins, producer of Mike Mulligan & Brian Hanley's midday sports talk show, has been promoted to sports director of the Score. |

I wonder if his promotion at 670 "The SCORE" is the first of many changes that I have read about online. If the latest ratings mean anything, WSCR needs to get rid of Mike North and forget about reuniting Mike Murphy with "Pappy" and Fred Huebner weekday mornings. ESPN Radio's national duo of ex-"SCORE" guy Mike Greenberg & Mike Golic continues to trounce North and whatever "The SCORE" puts on the air Monday through Friday, regardless of the fact you can actually see "Mike & Mike" on ESPN2 at the same time "Greeny" & Golic are on ESPN Radio 1000. "The SCORE" should look long & hard at getting younger in morning drive, and have the likes of Laurence Holmes, Matt Abbatacola, Jason Goff, Zach Zaidman and Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch wake Chicago sports fans up. There's also something else WSCR & parent company CBS Radio should do besides those rotating White Sox billboards with Ed Farmer & Steve Stone at U.S. Cellular Field...MORE PROMOTION!!! |

Yeah, I suppose Larry Holmes can wake the white people the same way George Harrison was awakened some years back. |

I've wondered the same thing. The regular weekday rotation doesn't change that often. Perhaps he sets the weekend rotation, but what else ? |

Assigns/manages reporters. I think he also manages the update guys. I think that's what a SD does at any station; you just might expect it to be different because its sportstalk format. |

That makes sense. Like you said, since it's an all-sports station, it's hard to guess exactly which responsibilities are Mitch's and which get delegated. Thanks. |

Still not sure what he does, but I'd guess he's the creepiest looking sports director there is... |
