Matt Abbatacola has come a long way from producing other shows to becoming an improving host at "The SCORE". He's one of those younger "SCORE" hosts who should be in the conversation to get a full time airshift at the sports talk station. |

In terms of talent & salary at WSCR, Matt is one of the best guys but the lowest paid. (Rock's also in this category) |

You know Pappy made Mitch pay Jen Jen 80k. That has to piss off Rock, Goff, and Drinky. |

Well, I have no inside information. It's a guess on my part. But I'm guessing, with Jen Jen's duel roles - news women/executive producer, that Pappy made Mitch pay Jen 80k. |
You know Pappy made Mitch pay Jen Jen 80k. That has to piss off Rock, Goff, and Drinky.
I see archived messages saying Buchman got 80k during his brief disastrous tenure but nothing about Jen. If true, Rock should've quit on the spot since the chasm of 25k to 80k is far too great. |

What was Annie making? Had to be at least 100k. Right? Buchman was making 80k? Fred has to be at least 80k. Pappy gets 1.5 million. Jeez. Pappy bitches a lot. But management has been great to him and his failed show. He has nothing to bitch about. Remember watching Sox games? The behind the plate advertisement in 2006. It was for Pappy's show. Nobody else at the Score. |

You could tell last night it had been a while for him to fly solo. I listened around 7 PM and there was quite a few ums and ahs. |

I did hear im say that he was excited about the Bennett draft pick by the Bears because he would complement Booker and Lloyd. Apparently, he doesn't follow the Bears in the off-season because Lloyd is hardly a lock to make the team, much less start. |

however disingenuous it may seem to be saying this anonymously on an internet forum, i do sincerely feel for drinky and jason. both are excellent hosts who are apparently getting the run-around by their employer, and it's really a shame. |

I listened to Drinky's show yesterday for about an hour and found it to be a pretty angry show. Seems like Matt doesn't hold much respect for his listener's opinions and his listeners were ready to literally kick his ass for it. Not really very entertaining. |

80K are you fucking high? Fred probably makes 60, at best. Mike might pay Jen on the side but no way she makes more then 50, if that. Fuck, Rock board-op's for Jack on the weekend probably making 12 bucks and hour and he probably makes 30 a year. |

Have to disagree with you on that one, Matt treats the callers much better then anyone on the score. |

With all due respect Abbatacola has developed a personna as radio's version of Dean Martin. Is there a long list of happy alcoholics wandering around that I have missed all these years? |

Is there a long list of happy alcoholics wandering around that I have missed all these years? Does this make Jason Goff the radio version of Sammy Davis Jr.? |

I do post. Angry - hardly. Do I get frustrated with callers? I do, but very rarely. When I do, it's not because a caller and I disagree. You may hear one caller or two in a 4 hour show and form your opinion that I treat my callers with no respect. That's just crazy. For example... I got mad on Saturday because a caller said to me that I want Soriano dropped down in the lineup because of "all the dumb Sox fans who have drilled it into to my head that he's a bad leadoff hitter". I take that as being a stupid comment. If I can't drill that guy on the air, who can I? I had a guy call Saturday and say that Buehrle should be put in AAA and Broadway should replace him. I listened and thanked him for calling and just replied that was not a good idea and would never happen. I think most hosts would have called him a name and yelled at him for being stupid. If you like me, great. If you don't, you don't. I can't help that. Please don't form your opinion of how I treat callers unless you listen enough to hear me interact with many callers. I have always said that my show is open for people to call and disagree with me if you do, but have a reason for it - form your own opinion. How many times have you been doing your job and a guy calls you at work and says he wants to meet you outside your office so he can kick your ass over a sports opinion? I think I can get frustrated with a caller or two every now and then. Thanks for posting salary stuff on here....those are my favorite. I laugh the most at those. I love this website.....thanks friends!!! |

I've listened to you many times before but, in my opinion, I just found the last few times that I have listened that you are looking for an opportunity to disregard what callers had to say. Maybe I'm just listening at the wrong time but it's just my opinion. That doesn't make you an angry person. That wasn't my point. My point was that the tone with the callers makes for an antagonistic atmosphere, at least in Saturday's show and makes the show's tone seem angry. Callers are on edge to make their point without making a mistake that will get them called a buffoon and their anxiety can lead to them not clearly making that point in a self-fulfilling prophecy. I hear the same thing on B&B when I listen. I actually have always enjoyed your show which is why I wanted to point out this observation. I agree that the guy who offered to "kick your ass" was idiotic and you played it to humorous effect. I was just making a critique of your tone with the callers. |

Uninformed thoughts on people's salaries automatically devalue whatever other arguments may be presented. The one thing which I find nasty is the use of Matt, Zack, LHo et al for evening/weekend shows after they do their M-F weekly shifts. And you know, there's not that many slots at the Score that people are "trying out" for: with the Sox and Blackhawk schedules, mid-evening slots are often pre-empted. (One wonders who takes over the BlackHawks slots, now: are the Bulls contractually available? Wolves? DePaul BBall? |

Dr K.N. - Thanks for listening and offering your opinion. I do appreciate it. My main goal when I go on the air is to have fun with my listeners. I think if I do get angry, it's because I react to an angry caller. I try not to get mad or argue, but I'm human. I always regret it when the show is over. "I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is". |

I will hardly turn the score off because of the hosts, but when some of the meatballs start calling in non-stop, it amazes me how much patience people like Matt, Rongey and Zach show. They for sure handle those calls better then Terry or Dan, not ripping those two, its just my opinion. Like Matt said, if someone calls in and says something stupid, why shouldnt he or anyone be allowed to rip into them a bit, its justified. |

I don't care if someone says something stupid and gets ripped into. What I don't care to hear is when a host doesn't allow a caller to get his complete thought out or assumes they know what the caller is about to say and starts to rip into them. I wouldn't say that is exactly what Drinky was doing but I've heard B&B do it before and it's annoying. I just thought Drinky was frustrated with the callers in general and was expecting the next caller to say something stupid too. Drinky is usually pretty good with the callers which is why I pointed it out. If I didn't like the show, I wouldn't bother to post anything. |
