I left work early yesterday and caught about three minutes of Murph by accident. He had someone from the Hoosier Bat Company explaining why Maple bats shatter. Basically, it’s due to the low moisture content (which results in the bat being more brittle) to make weight. This was far too complicated for Murph’s listeners to understand so he had to draw a comparison to building a fire with wet wood vs. dry wood and that wet wood means more smoke. WTF? I want those three minutes back.

I’m sure Murph knows a thing or two about smoking wet wood. He should have compared it to when he’s handling Mike North flaccid vs. when he’s a full three inches.

LOL. You have no one to blame but yourself. Murph is there for your digestible tidbit needs; it's your fault if you're tidbit intolerant.

Actually, I thought the segment was interesting as to why all these bat pieces have been flying all over the field lately, but yes, I totally agree--when Murph found it necessary to elaborate on the guy's answer and go into a long-winded explanation as to the wet vs. dry firewood thing, I was absolutely cringing. I GET IT!!!

They need to go back to using Ashe wood.

Dave Cook is a pretty nice guy.
His shop is pretty small, considering that he produces a decent amount of bats for MLB players.
I still believe they offer tours.
