Post subject:  MYSPACE part II (Goff)

As I meandered thru these MYSPACE pages and made fun of them on another board, the " LO HOLMES stabbing white people" post reminded me of Goff's MYSPACE. I feel I'm thick skinned but I hate double standards in all aspects. While on Jason Goff's MYSPACE page, I was entertained by a song. A song that used the word "Nigga"over a dozen times. What I cant under stand is why someone in Mr. Goff's position would voluntarily put a song with those lyrics on a web page that associates himself with his employer WSCR/CBS. Is that professional? I would think a black man trying to promote himself in an industry with white thin skinned suits running the show should leave the ghetto music with a racial slur off his page. Isnt there plenty of Urban rap that doesnt use the "N" word? And I'm sure some African Americans hate that word in every aspect. All should. I hate the word and I'm whiter than copier paper. WORD!!!!

The other day Goff was talking about the recently departed Andy Garcia.

Goff said something like "Andy Garcia acted the least Mexican of any Mexican I've ever met."

Really Goff? How is a Mexican suppose to act? It's funny because Goff is quick on the trigger with the white racist callers. He likes to play the "Pappy music" that we all love. This was a time he should have played it for himself.

After Goff said this there was an awkward silence from B&B and they just moved on. Just another example, like the Larry comment, of how black people can get away with these comments.

is it weird that, as a white dude, i couldn't care less what people of color say about white people? that i think maybe they all have a lifetime of free passes, due to the whole, you know, slavery thing?

and beyond that, is it weird that i don't think any of the examples cited are all that inflammatory? we're not talking about louis farrakhan here, guys.

Goff is quick to play the Pappy music for the white guys. It's justified sometimes. Just wanted to point out that Goff isn't much above those meatball callers when he made this comment.

You're right. It is accepted for minorities to take shots at white people. Goff made this comment about Mexicans. Another minority group.

from your description of the andy "boat drinks" garcia comment, if someone had played the dean martin tune instead of awkward silence, it would have been comedy gold.

I played it in my head after the comment. So I created my own comedy gold.

Here is the problem with Goff and Larry. They listen to Bernsie so much. But they're not as smart as Bernsie. Nor are they consistent like Bernsie.

Bernsie and Boers never cross that line of racial comments. What do Bernsie and Boers do? They make fun of white people. They make the "cracker" or "white trash" comments. They make fun of big and dopey white basketball players. They hate "white people from Texas."

Of course they can do this. Everybody likes to hear white people make fun of white people.

Larry and Goff hear this and try to copy it.

Guys, you can't do that if you want to be consistent. I think they have to be reminded they are black. It's not the same as B&B when they make fun of white people. They are so hell-bent on being Bernsie that they forget this.

Goff plays the "Pappy music" to rail against the racist white man. Then, Goff makes this comment about Andy Garcia. Larry often brings up race issues and preaches against racist comments and stereotypes. Then, Larry makes a comment about his dream about white people.

Like I said, they all try to be Bernsie. Bernsie is smart and consistent in his comments. Bernsie calls out racist comments and he never makes racist comments. Bernsie knows the line that he can't cross.

Larry and Goff aren't very smart. They certainly aren't consistent as we can see with their recent comments. Thus, they can't be Bernsie. They also lose credibility.

Goff is across the board with this race bashing. He cuts off as many black callers and makes fun of "the community" just as much as he does white people.

The complete lack of political correctness with regards to race is one of the reasons I love B&B.

That's where you are wrong. B&B are politically correct. They only attack white people outwardly. They never cross the line with any other race.

Like I said, everybody loves when white people make fun of white people. Black people love it. White people love it. Mexicans love it. The only people who hate it are "Man-like Lesbians" Fuck them. "Man-like lesbians" hate everything.

Goff does whatever he does. He's inconsistent.

Someone should tell that guy that maybe Andy Garcia doesn't act Mexican because he's Cuban.

I just heard the Goff "nigga music" and it seems out of place, email Mitch! And Andy Garcia was a great guy stuck at a lousy station with lousy coworkers and lousy management. He gets a Gold Star for abandoning the Titanic. And yes, he's not Hispanic like Ozzie or Carlos Mencia or Freddie Prinze - he's more Anglo like Freddie Prinze Jr. - so what? Ay Carumba.

It's not just about bashing races equally. It is about speaking bluntly about races both positively and negatively and not pussyfooting around stereotypes. Like Terry's policy about not drafting white basketball players. While it may sound just like cracker-bashing, it is also a reenforcement of the stereotype that black guys are better at basketball than white guys. I have no problem with that.

Right Soup. They'll do that stereotyping for white people. They'll say "cracker" and "white trash". They'll make fun of white basketball players. You're proving my point. They can do that.

They don't do it for any other race. They might bash a black person. But it's for what they've done. Not specific to a racial stereo type.

They can say Tank is an ass hole for being a criminal. R. Kelly is a sick pervert. That's just calling an ass hole an ass hole. It's different than making fun of white basketball players. That's my point.

Like I said. It's safe and funny for white people to stereo type other white people. Bernsie knows that and does it. He doesn't do it for other races.

You don't hear them use stereo types like "black people can't swim".

They ripped Dusty for saying Latinos and blacks are better in hot weather. Do you get my point? They only stereo type white people.

Bernsie will also make fun of Jews. Because he is Jewish. Goff often plays the Borat "How do you protect me from a Jewwww." Bernsie is cool with it. Because Bernsie is the host nobody can be offended.

On the other hand, Goff takes Brian Puruch quotes out of context with his "Some day you'll see no blacks at all." Or his "Latinos are easier to control"

Do you think Goff will play his comment about Andy Garcia? Doubt it. It wouldn't even be out of context if he played the whole quote.

There are a lot of bits on radio that get old to me. Some on B&B. That one has staying power. It never gets old.

I don't know how to do it. I'm sure somebody here does. It would be funny if somebody would take that song and do a montage with Pappy pictures, Jen Jen pictures, and other funny pictures. You can mix in some pictures of mafia movies. Good fellas and others. Make a video montage. Put it on youtube.

You can get all of the pictures from Pappy's web site or Jen Jen's myspace.

Yeah. I like the "What?" after the Pappy promo on B&B. Then you hear Boers cackling in the back round.

It always applies too. Pappy is talking stupid and you really don't know what he's saying.

I feel sorry for the guy at the Score who has to find the one highlight of the Pappy Show. It's clear, by what they choose, that they can't find one.

I still wonder why Mitch doesn't ask them to stop sabotaging the promos. Maybe that's a sign they've given up on him.

Rocky, the WSCR myspace pages are filled with half-truths, bold-faced lies, self-aggrandizement, self-flagellation, self-abuse. I also noticed how the hosts don't have pages - just the producers/host wannabees. It's like George Martin saying he's one of the Beatles. It's like being forced to listen to the George Martin songs on the Yellow Submarine CD. It's like being forced to listen to the Yoko Ono songs on the Double Fantasy CD.

The fact that you have the time to discuss a song someone has on F'in Myspace is obsurd. Your post made you sound like the mustachioed cop from Super Troopers. I got you good you F**k*r.

This entire thread is like the opposite of the last Costas Now, which actually hit on some of these topics well. Internet bloggers with issues, racism, etc.
