Settle down Big Fan. Many people have said it's a matter of time before a broken bat hurts a fan or a player.

You see so many bats break it crosses the mind of everybody watching baseball games. Fans and broadcasters alike. I've hear announcers predict a flying broken bat will hurt somebody one day. It's common sense to think that.

MLB began investigating the making of Maple bats and were considering banning them.

The only time I heard people talk about it is during a game and the chunk of the bat flys . It is usually a passing comment.

I heard Murphy's interview with this guy from Hooiser bat company and it was a great explanation.

I was unaware of any investigation by MLB. I see some concern, but nothing official.

And not one of the many articles I have read address what the real issue is. It is not "THE MAPLE" it is the fact the Maple is dried out to the extreme below 10% moisture levels.

I also heard that Hoosier bat maker interview and considering the guy is 70 years old and has been making bats his whole life and his family has been making bats for 100 years, I would say the guy knows more than MLB's entire staff.

Of course Murphy did not originate the concern, but seems that he is the only one I have seen, read or heard that really did find out why.
