With Pappy leaving and Mully and Hanley taking his morning show it might leave the 10-12 shift for the back ups. Unless, of course, they just expand Murph. What's the word Goff and Drinky? You guys have a shot at the 10-12 shift. Are they gonna give it to Larry or Paruch or both? |

Extend Murph. Kudos to Score management. Shit! That bit is done too! |

God I hope they dont extend Murph. I can only listen to his shows in the summer and I'm already turning to Tirico everyday. |

If "Mully & Hanley" take over morning drive full time, 670 "The SCORE" should NOT split up middays like they have it now. Middays should be 10a-2p weekdays, and it could mean 4 hours of Mike Murphy instead of the 2 hours they have for him now. If not "Murph", or if Mike Mulligan & Brian Hanley decide not to move out of middays, WSCR & CBS Radio better spend the money to land a marquee morning man who will do what North & "Murph" have failed to do...beat "Mike & Mike" in the Arbitrons! I may be goofy in suggesting this name, but see if you can get Kevin Matthews back in Chicago! I was a "Kev-Head" dating back to when I was a sophomore in high school and I really enjoyed listening to Kev & Jimmy Shorts before he got screwed out of this market. |

Greenstein is reporting a possible Holmes/Drinky combo. I'd rather - and I can't believe I'm writing this - I'd rather have four hours of Mike Murphy than two hours of Urkel (blood running from my ears). Put Fred back with Murph for the shift... |

I won't listen to Larry. Can't do it. I'll listen to most sports radio unless they completely insult my intelligence or patronize me. Holmes is the King at doing that. Holmes has no insight and makes the simple things he says seem profound. Larry and Pappy are the only two that I can't stand to listen to. It's "ears bleed" radio. |

drinky solo, drinky& Goff, or drinky & Paruch would all be far superior to anything involving Holmes. The only Score host worse than Holmes is Zzzzzzzzzzaidman. |

It acually doesn't matter to me who gets the 10-12 slot since I can't listen at that time anyway. But I'm looking out for you guys. NO LARRY, MITCH!!!! Don't do it. You should know he's bad by now. He's had enough sub roles. But people have said Mitch likes Larry. Maybe Larry kisses his ass. Larry is the first sub off the bench. If they don't expand Murph it, more than likely, will be Larry. Just a question of if they give Larry a partner or not. |

The problem with the backup guys is that they're not really established personalities like the rest of the lineup. North: Score original Mulligan/Hanley: current Sun-Times sportswriters Murph: Bleacher bum, Score original Boers: former Sun-Times sportswriter, Score original Bernstein: longtime midday/afternoon host Everyone else, even Larry, is just typecast as a fill-in. Even for Paruch, who is the best off the bench, he doesn't have the cachet that the other guys do. For the duration of baseball season with both teams slated to do very well this summer, I'd extend Murph to four hours to go baseball-intensive. In terms of being the requisite big personalities to fit along the rest of the lineup, their best bets are probably Hub Arkush and Doug Buffone. Has Larry ever been a regular host? When was that "Me and Z" show on? |

True. But Bernsie was just a backup before he got a shift. If you're good you're good. The major problem is the backups just aren't good. Paruch is OK but that's about it. I've often said Drinky might be good as the side guy. Not the driver. Maybe he gets that role with Larry. But Larry will ruin the show no matter what partner he has. Mitch will give one or two of the backups a chance. They'll be a cheap hire. Give them a shot for a year and see if they can do it. |

Did the Score even exist the last time Kevin Matthews didn't suck? |

According to a statement made by "SCORE" Program Director Mitch Rosen, the man Kevin Matthews nicknamed "Chunga" back in the day, Mike Mulligan & Brian Hanley will continue to host between 6a-Noon now through Friday, with fill-ins working "M & H's" shift starting Monday. As far as Kev goes, I only mentioned it as a "marquee name" that bosses of 670 "The SCORE" should take a long, hard look at in the event "Mully & Hanley" decide not to shift to mornings. After viewing all these messages, I'm under the impression that you'd like to give these two Sun-Times scribes a chance, but not necessarily in morning drive. Then again, fans aren't exactly enamored with who they have off the bench right now that should be considered for full-time work as hosts at a station that tends to stay in house when it comes to on air talent. |

I might be in the minority, but I've grown to enjoy Hub Arkush since he was dumped by the Bears. He is very knowledgable when it comes to the NFL, NBA and MLB. I wouldn't mind Hub as a full timer. I would also love to see Goff and Drinky get a shot. |

I agree with you concerning Hub Arkush since he joined 670 "The SCORE" during football season 2 years ago. Hub has been real good in his analysis since WBBM Newsradio 780 dumped him from the Bears' Radio Network broadcasts. I know he's occasionally hosted some weekend shows trying to branch out beyond the gridiron. While I'm not sure if WSCR will give Hub more airtime, Matt Abbatacola will certainly get a shot to host middays if "Mully & Hanley" shift over to mornings. I also think Jason Goff will get a legitimate chance to host evenings and/or weekends once "The SCORE" has more local sports talk once the White Sox wrap up their season. As 670 tries to move forward now that Mike North is over & out, this is a golden opportunity for Abbatacola, Goff, Laurence Holmes & Brian "Whipping Boy" Paruch to possibly move up the depth chart if they have no plans to spend the money to lure a "marquee name" from outside NBC Tower to headline the station. |

I wouldn't mind Hub as a full timer. There are things that Hub does well, but he will always be the smarmy, toady, company man that he was for the Bears for years. And throw in sanctimonious and pompous for good measure. Hub would have zero credibility to me, no thanks. Shake up the lineup by pairing Goff or Paruch with a crotchety, lech like say an "El Harr" from the S-T, or a Mark Brown, or someone...anyone who could actually string together a few cogent (occaisionally funny) 'sports' related thoughts? |

Hub sucked as the full-time host of Sports Huddle. Then again, he had that dimwit Peggy Kusinski with him. |

This would be a different Sports Huddle than the old WMAQ show with Chris Kross, Steve Olken, and Tom Green? Now that was a show. Nay-nay! Right over heeee! That show probably pulled in some great ratings, and lasted as long as it did, because they had the good fortune to lead-in and follow-up Bulls games during the first title run. |
