Fans, while Sun-Times scribes Mike Mulligan & Brian Hanley are the "odds-on favorites", according to Sun-Times columnist Rob Feder to replace Mike North in morning drive, there are two names that Rob mentioned in his column among the possible outside replacements, and both are currently unemployed former Chicago Bears. One of them is Dan Hampton, who was just cut loose by WGN 720. The other is a familiar face & voice who North used to work with as the other half of "The SCORE's" original "Monsters of the Midday", Dan Jiggetts, who currently analyzes the Bears on Comcast SportsNet. Feder mentioned Hampton & Jiggetts among the notable names WSCR 670 & CBS Radio management will consider as potential outside replacements over the next month or so. In an earlier post, I mentioned "The SCORE" possibly hiring marquee names now that North is out, but I'm not so sure these are names I had in mind... |

Something tells me "SCORE" management is trying to go on the cheap if they want to add someone not on the current staff...Dan Jiggetts? Dan Hampton? You've got to be kidding! |

How many DUIs is Hampton on? Five or six at least. Is his licence taken away for good? Jiggs is out to help the community. Hampton is out to crash his car into the community. I don't think this would work. I don't want Jiggs in any fashion. Jiggs is boaring. He only knows football and he really has no insight on that game. He just repeats what he reads or hears. |

With the Jiggs rumor from Feder you kind of get the idea that, had Pappy accepted the Score's offer, they would have brought back the Jiggs and Pappy Show. Or they were thinking of doing that. |

I wouldn't have as big of a problem if "Jiggs" and/or Hampton wanted to join Doug Buffone's "Chicago NFL Live" this fall as a rotating co-host. If I remember correctly, Buffone had the likes of Ed O'Bradovich, the Trib's David Haugh, plus Hub Arkush, Laurence, Zach & even Brian "The Whipping Boy" sit in with him during football season after 6p. I just think WSCR & CBS Radio can do a lot better than who & what they have in mind... |

You guys hear Hampton's HOF speech? The man can't speak. That's a bad thing for radio, isn't it? |

jiggs and North was decent cause Jiggs pointed out North's football knowledge shortcomings...Jiggs paired with someone versed in basketball and baseball might work... |

Hampton sucked on WGN. A Hampton hire would bring ratings equal to the "Bear & the Bull" show of old. |
