Murph sounds very relaxed this week, well, about as relaxed as he can get. Forget the "Open Auditions" between 10-12 and give Murph and Fred the 10-2 slot, damnit! |

Was Fred chiming in on the actual show, or were they just interacting during updates? I'm not sure I am sold on a Murph and Fred four hour midday show five days a week, but I sadly think that has more appeal then Laurence Holmes for two hours daily. Gosh, he is going to get killed by Waddle and Silvy in the ratings. |

Holmes, for the most part, is fairly good. The challenge is going to be finding him a partner. I was unfamiliar with his partner yesterday -- a fellow sportscaster named Paula -- but he needs an opposite to help drive the show. Steve Rosenbloom would be a good opposite, but I don't know if he's doing radio anymore. George Ofman would also be good, if the SCORE should decide to make his erudite ass work more than once an hour. Also, Fred did the updates on Murph's show yesterday. |

"Do you talk like the announcers when you're watching a game" was a topic yesterday |

Yes...please bring back Fred, Murph might be listenable again and provide an alternative to the snoozefest that is the Tirico show...as far as Holms, good luck with the partner search-I was under the impression that George's hours were determined by Score management, not Hoffman himself... |

I'm recessitating this thread...BRING HIM BACK NOW...Murph is locked into his "comment while callers are talking" mode and it's BAD RADIO... |

Gosh, he is going to get killed by Waddle and Silvy in the ratings. Mike Murphy is the only sports talk radio host on either station that actually interacts with the update guy, regardless if it's Fred Huebner, George Ofman, Brian "Whipping Boy" Paruch or even Joe Bartosch for that matter. I remember when Dan Patrick was working at ESPN Radio, he and national update anchor Dan "the Duke" Davis actually interacted a little conversation in their show before Dan left Bristol, CT almost 1 year ago. It is good radio, especially if there's something noteworthy. |

Interaction with update guys is fine if it's funny...but sometimes Murph thinks he's funny when he's not...George sometimes sounds like he wants to kill him. It works with Fred because there's chemistry, and not just Village People chemistry.... |
