Just what Holmes needs. He is horrible by himself.

Love some Steve Stone!

Not sure, I think it is just a today thing, but Stone is on with him for the full show.

boy, are they trying hard to push L-Holms...you know what would be funny though, Stone trying to act like an expert on football and basketball...that would be great radio...

Well, if you call 'em up, it's a vote for Larry. Do you want to be entertained that bad?

Laurence & Steve spent the bulk of their 2 hour gabfest today on what Steve knows best...BASEBALL! The two covered a great deal of ground on the White Sox & Cubs, and what moves, if any, both teams can make before the July 31st MLB Trade Deadline. No matter what time Stone drops dime on "The SCORE" guys, it is good radio to listen. I think Steve's as good as advertised.

that's not the point...stone is one of the best baseball listens, but he won't be on every day to puff up Holm's show...and after baseball season and before hot stove, he's a one trick pony, in essence...

I aint interested in Stone being on everyday. I am just glad I could actually listen to the Score from 10-12 today. If Stone had not been on I would have turned over to 1000. Stone is as good a baseball guy as there is int he business.

It's a work in progress, but I thought Laurence & Steve covered a great deal of baseball during the 10a-Noon shift today. That's why "Stoney" was on Laurence's show. I have a feeling that whether we like it or not, Laurence Holmes is the man for middays on 670 "The SCORE", but it remains to be heard if there will be a sidekick or a partner for the show that will air after "Mully & Hanley". We can bitch & moan all we want, but things appear to be set concerning the first 6 hours of local sports talk on "The SCORE" now that Mike North is in the rearview mirror.

true...I can't fight that. and yes, Stone is one of the best in the business, and he's sure to tell you that...but I do enjoy it when he's wrong, like the Cubs '04 season. Overall, he's awesome...

Is Mitch still Larry's agent? Wouldn't this be a conflict of interest? I'm the judge, the jury, and the executioner too.

Before he became the Program Director of WSCR 670, Mitch Rosen was actually an agent for a sports marketing company called Paragon. That explains how Ozzie Guillen, Jr. got a Spanish-language baseball show late Sundays at 10p on "The SCORE", let alone how the sports radio station got the White Sox radio rights after the team won the 2005 World Series title.

Chronoloical correction: The deal got done in the summer of 2005, a few months before the beloved White Sox went on dominating 11-1 playoff run to win the World Series title.

You are absolutely correct that 670 "The SCORE" acquired the White Sox radio rights in the Summer of '05, but it wasn't until the ticker tape parade following the World Series when WSCR's contract as the Sox flagship officially began.
